Biography
Deepika Padukone,born 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an Indian model & Actress. She is the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Her mother tongue is Konkani. Deepika has a younger sister named Anisha.
Career
Deepika made modeling appearances in print and television advertising campaigns for Liril, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modeling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewelery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover-girl face.

At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards, for Indian models and designers, she was awarded the title of Model of the Year. Shortly after wards, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel. She also bagged two trophies at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006 - female Model of the year (Commercial Assignments) and Fresh Face of the year.
She became noticed by director Farah Khan and it was then that she was cast alongside Shahrukh Khan in the movie Om Shanti Om.
In 2013 Deepika turned designer and paired up with noted fashion brand Van Hensen and designed dresses and ladies purses. 2013 proved to be one successful year for Deepika with four hits in the box office and to finish the year Deepika turn writer and held a party for her success.

Deepika Padukone rubbishes rumours of link-up with Ranveer Singh, says she is single

Actress Deepika Padukone who has been romantically linked with her 'Ram-Leela' co-star Ranveer Singh, says that she is very much single.

Apparently, Deepika, who turned 28 on January 5 spent her birthday with Ranveer and the alleged couple was spotted together in New York.

In an interview recently, she had denied rumours of a relation with Ranveer but evaded the question on the issue this time saying that all these talks are not true.

So does that mean you are single, to which she said, "Yes ...yes...you are happy (now)." She was talking to reporters at the Stardust cover launch event here last night.

Earlier too, the actress sidestepped queries on Ranveer on Karan Johar's chat show 'Koffee with Karan' when she was prodded about her supposed boyfriend and instead asked, "Am I dating him ?"

Sometime back, the pictures of Ranbir Kapoor and his rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif were published by the magazine. And now even her photos with Ranveer are going viral but Deepika is not worried about the pics getting published.

"It doesn't matter as it is part of what I do. When the issue releases I will buy the copy to read it," she quipped.

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is in the race to bag Best Actress Award at Star Guild Awards 2014. This time, the actress is having a strong chance because of her multiple nominations. Deepika Padukone has been nominated in the Best Actress category for her three movies. Her brilliant performances in Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani have made her to become a strong contender at Star Guild Awards 2014.
