Kite flying scenes coated with romance has become a custom for Indian Television shows during "Makarsankranti". Sanjay Leela Bhansali had done it years back in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" and ever since Indian daily soap has been following it without fail.
"Saraswatichandra" being a show based on Gujrati family shot an extensive kite flying sequence on this Makarsankrati. Kumud and Saras competes with each other in flying kite but Saras loses. But hold on there is an ample dose of romance during this fun sequence where Saras gets hurt by "manjha" and Kumud rips off her dupatta and ties a bandage on Saras's hand.
Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata hai takes one year leap on Makarsankrati and entire Singhania family celebrates Makarsankrati. Akshara-Naitik and Nandini-Mohit forms two teams and competes with each other in kite flying competition. Akshara-Naitik loses to the other team but they are more than happy losing as after this they share some personal moments and gets a chance to romance whereas their family is blissfully busy in flying kites. Krystal's new show "Ek Nayi Pehchan" again a Gujrati family show has shot beautiful kite flying sequence on Makarsankrati
Sakshi and Karan competes with each but again the same old twist follows. Karan gets injured by manjha and Sakshi nurses him with romantic track played in the background. Oldest running show on Indian Television "CID" also shot kite flying on Makarsankrati on Sabarmati river.
