NRIs to participate in Indian Idol 3

The third season of Indian Idol will be back after the World Cup in May. The show will be telecast from Friday to Sunday. The first two seasons which reached over 50 million viewers each year and received over 55 million votes from viewers each season is expected to create a new record this year with the show going a step further by allowing NRIs to participate. Auditions will be done in Dubai and London. Says Sony's senior creative director Sandiip Sikcand, "The response to auditions done in 12 cities across India has been fantastic. We have zeroed in on some amazing talent. The third season will be a far better, exciting experience for viewers who will see some real good talent on the Indian Idol platform." The show will not only have a new male anchor in Hussain of Nach Baliye fame but two new judges in Kajra Re girl Alisha Chinai and Bollywood singer Udit Narayan besides an additional judge in lyricist Javed Akhtar.
