Chapter 17
'Ayesha,ab se Arjun ye case lead kar raha hai,uski madaat karna,team mein uske baad tum experience officer ho,'
'Arjun sir,kiyu ap kahi ja rahe hai?'
'Haan wapas,mein ye case chor raha hu,'
'kiya?Sir ap kaise...'Ayesha asked astonished...
Rathore had an sudden urge to go to the beach,may be his past memories were dragging him there.By the time they reached it was almost dawn.Ayesha walked along him silently.
Rathore walked towards the sea and stood by the water.Ayesha stood a few inches away from him.She looked at him while he stood their hands in his pockets and looking towards the deep sea,lost in thoughts,his face showing no emotions he possesed.He sat down on the sand after a long time removing his shoes.Ayesha walked upto him and sat beside him.
'Sir,ap thik hai?'Sameer kept his silence.
'Ap sapna ke bare mein soch rahe hai na?'Again silence.
Ayesha waited for his answer,but when he didnt show any response,she signed,
'I am sorry.Mujhe apse aise puchna nehi chahiye tha.Sorry sir,'She was about to get up when sameer spoke up,
'Mein use kahi bar yaha mila tha.Use yaha ana bohot pasand tha.Hum aksar aya karte the.Der Raat tak rukhte the.Use bilkul bhi daar nehi lagta tha.Maine tab ye nehi socha ki wo is liye nehi darti thi,kyuki sab usse darte the.'Ayesha sat down silently waiting for him to continue..
'meine kabhi nehi socha tha ki mujhe bhi kabhi kisi se itna pyar ho jayega ki 8 saal baad bhi mein uske liye is jaga aunga.Haan ye sach hai,mein chahe khud ko hazar bar mana lu mein 8 saal se uska intezaar kar raha hu.Shayad wo kisi takleef mein thi,ya uske sath kuch hoga ho ya wo kahi chali gayi,isi khayal mein tha.Kahi mujhe yakeen tha wo wapas ayegi per aise mein kabhi soch nehi sakta.
Aur sabse ajeeb baat pata hai kiya ayesha?' he turned towards her,he had a sarcastic smile on his face,
'Use mujhse,pyar to choro shayad koi hum dardi bhi nehi hai.Usne sirf mera istamaal kiya hai apne faide ke liye.This thought is torturing me like a heated iron placed on my already bleeding heart.Maine zindagi mein bohot takleef e dekhi hai,but this pain,its getting unbearable every instance.I want to hate her,kill her but the moment she comes in front of me,there is something that decays all the hatred i have stored all these years for her,and i forget to react.
Ayesha mein wapas ja raha hu,Arjun ko sari authority aur responsiblity deke.Ye mission complete hona hi chahiye.Mein shayad nehi kar paunga,meri ek galti ke liye mein nehi chahta ye mission adhura rehe jaye.Ayesha tum wapas jao aur Arjun se kehena mein...'
'Ho gaya apka?ab mein bolu?'Ayesha interupted him,'Sir,ap kamzoor nehi hai,pyar karna kamzoori nehi hoti hai.Ap ne sapna se pyar kiya tha,sushma se nehi.Sapna aur sushma se bohot fark hai.Sapna apki duniya mein ayi aur apni ek alag jagah bana li.Chahe apne faide ke liye ho per usne apko pyar karna sikhaya.Is pyar ke liye apne apni zindagi ke 8 saal guzar diye.Isi bharose se ki apke pyar ke liye wo wapas ayegi?ap kaha kamzoor hai sir?kamzoor hote to usse bhool ke kisi aur se pyar kar lete.Per apne aisa nehi kiya,uske liye apka pyar apko karne nehi diya.Ye kamzoori bilkul nehi hai.'
Sameer looked at her.She had told him what he had thought all these years but never wanted to believe himself.She understood him so well,more than he could understand himself.He was confused about himself all these years.He didnt have anyone in his life he could share his pain with or one who would really understand him without teasing him for his foolishness.Here she has come suddenly and is reading his mind.He didnt want to but she was reading him like an open book.
'per ayesha sushma hi sapna hai,wo alag nehi hai'
'Nehi sir.Ab jo ayi hai,Sushma,usne apko nafrat karna sikhaya.Aap is nafrat se kamzoor par rahe hai.Ap usme sapna ka pyar dhoondh rahe hai,per wo to sushma hai.Wo apse pyar nehi karti.isliye apki kamzoori banne ki koi reason hi nehi hai.Aur waise bhi ap hi kehete haina?duty ke age kuch bhi nehi ata?fir ap mission chor ke kaise ja sakte hai?
'Ayesha mein jo bhi kar raha hu,duty ke liye hi kar raha hu.Mein nehi chahta meri wajah se tum me se koi bhi kabhi koi problem mein pare.Agar kal mein strong reheta to shayad wo aj lockup mein hoti.Aur sushma ko mere bare mein sab pata hai.Mera past,meri weakness,mera strength,sab kuch.Aur tumlog bhi abhi uske nishane pe ho.Itne mein agar meine ek galti bhi ki tum sab ki jaan khatre mein par jayegi.No Ayesha i cant risk that.I am quiting.'
'Sir,'
'nehi ayesha,chalo wapas,mein commisioner sir se baat karta hu,aur Arjun ko authority deke yaha se kal chala jaunga.'
Sameer started wearing his shoes,Ayesha kept looking at him.Sameer got up and looked at Ayesha.She too stood up reluctantly.Sameer felt her confused looks but he had to keep his team safe first.He walked ahead towards the car,leaving Ayesha behind.Ayesha looked at his retreating back and lost all hopes of holding him back.
Ayesha walked up to the car and found Sameer already sitting at the passenger seat speaking on his phone.A sharp lump formed at her throat.She still wanted to stop him from talking with the commisioner about the mission but he had already shoved her away.
She took the driver's seat.Sameer disconnected the call,he looked irritated.
'kiya hua sir?'
'Commisioner Sir kisi meeting ke liye delhi gaye hai,raat ko wapas ayenge tab baat karni paregi,'
Unknow to Ayesha,a pleasant but mischievious smile spread on her lips.She looked away hiding her smile from him but sameer was quick to notice.His nodded his head in disbelief and spoke up,
'hotel chale ayesha,bad mein khush ho lena,'
'Yes Sir,'Ayesha replied biting her lips to hid her smile and started the car.
They reached the Hotel in some time.Everyone had accumulated at Shree and chotu's room,even Dixit but Arjun was missing..Sameer and Ayesha got in.Sameer took the sofa and ayesha took the bed.
'Rawte kaha hai?'Sameer asked,
'pata nehi sameer, phone nehi utha raha hai kabse,'Sakshi informed,
'ye aadmi mujhe pagal kar dega,shree track karo use,'
Shree started his work and within minutes he got his results.
'Sir,Arjun sir,yahi hai hotel mein,'
'kaha?'Ayesha asked,
'yaha,'a voice came from the door.All the heads turned towards the voice to see Arjun standing there angry like a hungry beast.
Arjun barged into the room banging the door behind,where the whole team was present,visibly furious and irritated.He was angry on sameer and his decision.So he had went to calm himself down but it was worthless and the thought that sameer was leaving the case was burning him like hell.He had at last come back to the hotel to give his SYS session to sameer once he is back.
'kaha the tum rawte??koi zimedari nehi hai?kabhi bhi kahi bhi chale jate ho,call recieve nehi karte ho,samaj te kiya ho?'
'Tum se matlab?Tum abhi bhi yahi ho?'
'Commisioner sir delhi gaye hai,raat ko baat karunga,abhi chalo case discuss karte hai,'
'case?tum..'
'mein kiya rawte?mar nehi gaya hu...zinda hu aur abhi bhi mein hi chief hu,time waste maat karo,case discuss karna hai,'
Arjun didnt show his relief as usual but sameer could feel his eyes smiling.Sameer turned around while Arjun came in and sat on a sofa with a cup of tea served by sakshi.Dixit got up to talk on phone,excused and went outside the room.
'Ayesha ye kiya ho raha hai,please bataogi?'Shree asked ayesha softly,
'Rathore sir case chor rahe hai shree,he is going back,'Ayesha replied sadly,
'what?kiyu?'chotu asked from behind,eyeing his seniors,who were enjoying a severe glaring session with each other,
'wo unhe lagta hai ki wo...'Ayesha started but stopped not knowing what to tell them,none other than her knew about Sapna and Rathore's secret.
'Tum logo ka gossip khatam ho gaya ho to kuch kam bhi kare?'Arjun's loud voice saved Ayesha from the blunder.Everyone turned towards him nodding their heads.
Arjun looked at Rathore and started,
'kiya hua tha Rathore,tum waha kaise pohuch gaye?'Sameer kept facing the fact board and remained silent for a few minutes.The he turned towards the team and replied,
'wo bad mein rawte,abhi important ye hai ki mujhe usse kuch pata chala hai,'
Arjun opened his mouth to say something but looking at Rathore's stern features he kept silent.He understood there is surely something Rathore doesnt want to share in front of his team.He kept it for some other time when they would be alone.Rathore understood his silence and proceeded further sharing his conversation with her at the room in the casino.
'Sushma kisi revenge ki baat kar rahi thi,hume wo pata lagana hoga.'Rawte concluded,
'Aur uski life ke bare mein hume bas do log ke bare mein pata hai,Anna aur ravi,Ravi to pehele ki mar chuka hai,anna ka case file,shree'Rathore said
,
'yaha hai sir,Anna was shot in a police encounter.Goa mein ek secret operation hua tha,jisme uske kayi sari adde,consignments aur kuch illegal contacts ka bhi pata chala tha.Ek meeting ke bare mein pata chala tha,jaha anna aur kuch foreign traders milne wale the kisi deal ke liye.Police ne waha pe raid kiya aur bohot sara maal aur aadmi pakre gaye the.Anna ko bhi police ne arrest kiya tha.
Baad mein ek civilians se bhari huyi bus ko hijack kar liya gaya tha.Anna aur pakre gaye aadmi o ko chor ne mang ki gayi thi,aur sathe mein bhagne ke liye ek helicopter.Sarkar ne unki mang puri ki aur anna aur uske aadmi o ko chor diya.Anna un hostage mein se ek aurat ko sath leke helicopter ki taraf ja raha tha,uthne mein us bus mein ek blast ho gaya aur sab mare gaye.Police ne instant firing ki aur anna police ki goli se mar gaye sath mein uske aadmi aur wo aurat bhi.Baad mein is case ko band kar diya gaya tha.Us blast ki koi chan been nehi ki gayi thi.'Shree informed them reading the file,
'Lekin agar anna encounter mein mara gaya tha to Sushma uska badla kiyu legi,aur kisse legi?Police department se??there must be something else,'Rawte asked,
'Us case ki investigating officer kon tha shree?Rathore asked,
'koi Inspector Ranbir Singh'
'hume unse milna hoga,dixit,tum jante ho inhe,'Rathore asked
'nehi sir mein pata lagata hu,'Dixit said,
'hmm,aur chotu ye anurag,uske bare mein kuch pata chala?'Rathore asked,
'nehi sir,abhi tak uska pata nehi chala,shayad wo india mein hai hi nehi,'chotu informed,
'kiya hua sakshi?'Arjun asked irritated,
Everyone's head turned towards sakshi,who was fiddling with her phone for a long time.Sakshi looked tensed and she was continuously repling to some message she was receiving.She looked towards Arjun and then the others.She was afraid to face Arjun's glare so she looked at rathore,
'Sameer wo mujhe thora urgent kam hai,mujhe wapas mumbai jana hoga aj hi,'
'kiya hua sakshi?everything fine?'Rathore asked her,
'haan sameer,bas thora personal hai,can i leave?'
'Nehi sakshi ruko,shree tickets arrange karo,sakshi aj hi wapas ja rahi hai,'
'right sir,'Shree got to work,
Sakshi went to her room to get her things packed.Ayesha too went with her to help.
Arjun,Rathore and Dixit continued their discussion.
'Dixit wo deadbody kiski thi kuch pata chala?'Rathore asked dixit,
'haan abhi phone aya tha,john nam ta ek chota mota chor hai,bohot bar pakra gaya hai,use shayad paise diye gaye the,pocket se 2500 rs nikle hai,'dixit replied,
'koi phone?'Arjun asked,
'nehi koi phone nehi tha,per usne jo kapre pehene hai, use check karne bheja hai,dekhte hai usse kuch milta hai ya nehi.Body ko post mortem ke liye bhi bheja hai'
'okay.'Arjun said,
'Acp Rathore,waha sushma ke alawa aur koi tha?i mean wo akele apko behoshi ki halat mein samhal to nehi payegi,'Dixit asked,
'jab tak hosh tha,tab tak to nehi,behosh hone ke baad pata nehi,but haan mujhe jab thora hosh tha to sushma kisi se baat kar rahi thi,shayad phone pe'
'Hume wo room,fir se check karna chahiye,shayad kuch mile jaye,'Arjun said
'Right we can go tomorrow morning,'Dixit got up,
'Okay, hum subah wo room check karne chalte hai,'Arjun said glaring towards rathore,
Rathore looked away avoiding his anger.He took out his phone from his pocket and hurried out of the room. Arjun kept looking at his retreating back and looked away irritated.He too rushed out of the room.
