He is quite right. Hollywood, and english movies are still an industry of mainly white men dominated one. US hadn't still even now been fair to the natives and blacks, forget that any asian movies will be really looked fairly. Not to forget Indian choices of movies is pathetic.
They send a movie like barfi, which is almost completely copied, and no one considers a movie like Ship of Theseus. ughhh!!

He might be right but this "im too good of an actor for these awards" attitude is annoying.

wats up with this man? .. he has worked so hard in the industry for so long to get the respect that he gets .. why is he just giving such statements and losing his credibility now? .. I guess probably because he might be doing interviews for Dedh Ishqiya promotions and maybe he generally talks like that and we don't really get to hear him much

LMAO. Naseer is such a brilliant actor, but sounds like such a bitter person. He never has anything good or positive to say anymore.

Having said that I don't completely disagree with him on this one. The Oscars aren't rigged, especially not the way BW awards are. However they are politically driven. Any film about 9-11 where America is victimised, or shown destroying the 'evil foreigners', will definitely be nominated for an oscar. Any film in general where America is shown as a victim of foreign intruders/criminals will almost definitely be nominated for an oscar. Any film about race relations where America is ultimately shown in a positive light will be nominated for an oscar.

Basically the Oscar's are extremely patriotic, and often reinforce and uphold racial and national prejudices.

They also have their favourite actors who they will keep nominating, and then actors just as good who they will never nominate, or nominate but never give the award to (I'm thinking of Peter O'toole, Gary Oldman etc. here).

They often nominate films and actos just because they fit a certain criteria and not because they are actually good(Gwenyth Paltrow - Shakespeare in Love).

The Oscars are however fairer than BW award ceremonies. I actually perfer the BAFTA's to the oscars though, in terms of fairness.
