Hello my friends..happy new year and may all your wishes come true...I was wondering that i understand that men as babies had their ears pierced as it is part of one of an sanskaars.. Yet am very confused these guys had long hair but was it also part of an custum or was it just high fashion..

Can somebody enlighten me???😉😆

I guess it wouldn't have been a part of the custom..still a common thing in all the men.

Hair was a symbol of pride, which was why shaving it off was usually humiliating. Like what Krishna did to Rukmi, or the Pandavas did to Jayadrath, was said to be a punishment worse than death.

What intrigues me is the choice of rulers who had beards. Some did, some didn't, but in mythos, the older generation is usually shown beareded, while the younger ones are either cleanshaven, or have mustaches.

I have a very lame answer but I always thought that they didn't not have appropriate haircutting tools, like a scissors😆. and perhaps It would have been very difficult to have a haircut back then.
