Kalpi is a sensible girl with logical thinking that is why she discovered the forged signatures. Kamla screwed up that by running to the Kapoors on a whim without going to the necessary authorities before the Kapoors could save face. When Kamla received the forged documents evidence from Kalpi she took it with her high and almighty self and told Kalpi she will decide what to do with it, she was not very loving to Kalpi with her response.
Kalpi was clearly asking her Mother, how can they fight without any sort of logical stance. Kamla is an emotional woman who operates based on that and that is why she makes wrong decisions. What was she going to fight with? All Kalpi was doing, was trying to get her to think carefully before acting, then she would be of support. Kalpi never once said she would not support her Mother.
So, Kalpi does not deserve how her Mother treated her today. The big smile she put on for Pakhi was something she has been doing from breastfeeding her. She was always more happy to see and be around Pakhi, and that is why Kalpi is so insecure and she has grown distant from her Mother.
When she was sending off Kalpi to boarding school, she was so cold and callous, she never comforted the child properly and she never cared that Pakhi sat in the bus beside her.
On top of all of that, Kamla committed Motherhood sin, she left her daughter to drown, and never looked back when she was saving Pakhi.
So, in no form or shape or creed Kalpi should be blamed or chastised for showing less affection than Pakhi. Pakhi is sure of Kamla's love, Kalpi is not and she has every single reason to believe that with all her actions, but the drowning incident was the final nail.
If Vitthal had no saved Kalpi, she would not be around and it is clear Kamla would have carried on with her life, replacing Pakhi with her.
Any less understanding towards Kalpi, is saying Kamla is right to treat her daughter less than Pakhi, that is a complete sin towards any child.
