When I reached the palace, Taani and Neha came running. "Where is he?" Neha cried. I thought of Reyaansh bleeding inside the tunnel with no one to help him and did my best to look unconcern. About whom you are talking?'

Taani gave a long look before whispering "Reyaansh" I leaned closer, "How do you know?"

"We both were involved in it when Kuru first appeared. Who do you think posted the scrolls when he was on wars? Is he safe?" she said quickly. I told her what had happened, and their faces went pale. "Kria stay here and say absolutely nothing."

I panicked, "But where are you both going?"

"To find Vikrant and help Rey" I entered and tried to avoid Mritunjay's interested gaze. "Where have you been?" Sharon asked. "I was caught up in the rush." I lied hoping to be a good actor if Mriyunjay got a bit hint of Reyaansh being Kuru then everything would end. The minor chances of his survival would be shattered, he'll kill him.

Mritunjay studied me. It had been a year since he had last seen me. "They thought you'd been crushed" he said. "Of course not, I escaped. I'm not feeling well" I lied again and hurried to my room.

I spotted something dark peeking from beneath my pillow. It was a small black box, I opened it and took out my mother's diadem with a letter.

In case tomorrow never comes... My dear Princess, I wanna confess all I had in heart... I had seen you for the first time in your palace. You stood near the door trying an escape from situation with your mother and brothers. Soldiers from Kalpi descended the stairs with me. You were too lost in the situation that you didn't notice me but my eyes were only on you. I couldn't blink neither could look away, taking few steps further I came close and held you by your waist. The tip of my sword was at your neck but trust me it never meant to hurt you. "Can you loosen your grip on my waist? My brother is scared." Were your first words to me though I wanted to hold you closer I had to leave you. When we returned back to palace after a visit to city, your mom was already gone and unknowingly you hugged me. I couldn't describe what I felt. We had many encounters on the journey from Vardha to Kalpi, I tried to maintain a distance from you. You must be thinking it as your dream but I was really there that night when you were sleeping in your carriage while coming to Kalpi. In Kalpi I increased my try to stay away from you but couldn't keep myself away from you for long. My feelings came out when I found you trying to leave with the help of priest. The reason for staying away was I had a task in my mind to end slavery, Taani and Neha were involved in it and always pulled my leg about you. They could never imagine me falling for someone. You lost your kingdom, parents, Ishaan and all you had once all because of Kalpi and never cried neither said a word about it to me. I too had a similar story like you so I had soft corner for you. I lost my parents and little brother in a war and was brought up by Mritunjay, he's like a father to me but I couldn't tolerate slavery so I take to take this action. I was pretty sure you won't accept my feelings but you did reciprocate though never named it and I too never confessed it that I love you and will always do... Rey

Tears blurred my vision as I out on that diadem. He must have left that in the morning, not knowing that whether he would survive the day. And now his fate was up to Shiva, I would never weep for myself if he was granted life.

I paced the room desperate for any news. In evening when I came out of my room to the hall where everyone was there. Adhvrushya came with a smile, "Excellent news" he said triumphantly. "Had the Kuru been caught?"

"Even better, he's dead"

I felt my heart stop in my chest, but Adhvrushya went on. "Two men caught him attempting to escape. He was already hurt and was shot." Suddenly the world was spinning, I held the pillar for support.

I could feel throat beginning to close, and the world growing dark around me. Nothing made sense anymore, I shut myself in my room. With everything I had once I lost Reyaansh, the one who cared for me all along.

It no longer mattered to me whether I lived or died. I lay down and closed my eyes, hoping that someone would take me to world where Reyaansh had gone.

But it was all a dream, no one had come to murder me in my sleep. I woke up to realize that he isn't with me now, he's gone. I went to take the bath, the water droplets brushed across my cheeks, shoulders, hollow of my neck. I shivered imagining the soft kisses of Reyaansh's mouth in those places.

My eyes flew open reminding myself he won't ever come back to my arms. Whole day I (her look) was in my room, I didn't speak to anyone neither allowed anyone to meet me. In evening I stepped out of the room. There was a noise when I opened the door.

Sharon was around, "Mritunjay wants to see you." she said.

"Really, is he angry?" I asked intentionally. She was on verge of tears, "He asked us to bring you to him. I don't know whether you'll be able to accept it? Preparations are being made."

I nodded, we walked to his room. "Do you know why he has called? And preparations?" I no longer cared what happened to me. "I think you're going to be married." She said. When I didn't react she left me on the door and went away.

I opened the door, he was lying on the bed a bit ill with fever. With a hand he offered me a seat on the chair next to his bed. "Princess Kria" he said.

"Mritunjay"

"Do you know why I've called you here?" he asked, I didn't lie. "Sharon says it has something to do with my marrige"

"Yes, you have grown beautiful in my absence." He said. "Many things have happened in your absence." He raised his brows but instead of getting angry on me he composed himself to speak. I dug my nails into my palms to keep myself from weeping.

"I brought you here to give you a new life. I've understood that I won't survive for long, before I die I wish to see that change. I wish to make you Queen of Kalpi." He said. I bit my lower lip and gripped the sides of my chair.

"I don't understand... you... I thought that... Reyaansh" I whispered.

"Is ill? Yes, but he's young and very strong. Men like him recover quickly, I know you both don't like each-other much but you'll turn out to be a great couple. I have faith he'll efficiently rule Kalpi. He's waiting for you." He said.

I got up so quickly that my seat nearly toppled over. Mritunjay smiled, "He's in his room" I don't remember whether I ran. I must have when I opened the door and Reyaansh took me in his arms, I was breathless.

Immediately, I inspected him for signs that he'd been wounded again. "I don't understand... I just don't..." was all I said. He put his finger on my lips, "The men who shot were my men. There was no attack."

"But the mess" I whispered. "It was bull's blood. I think I'm going to survive."

And your shoulder?'

He pushed his tunic away so I could see where Vikrant had neatly stitched him closed, and in the bright light of settling sun, I knew there'd never been a more handsome man. From the time I'd been taken from Vardha, he must have known Mrityunjay intended me for him that's why in beginning he was so rude as he didn't want to lose his focus in bringing slavery to an end.

Then I thought of times he'd seen be cribbing for Vardha, and the many times I goaded him for being nasty when all of it was simply been an act to keep me away from the suspicion. My eyes began to burn. "I hope you're crying with happiness and not with disappointment." He said.

"How can I be disappointed?"

"But you wanted Vardha." I ran my fingers through his hair. "No, I want you." I searched his eyes which were filled with love. "Me or Kuru?"

"Perhaps both"

"But I'm afraid, I guess Kuru is dead. I've done what I wanted to do with Neha, Taani and Vikrant. There would be no more rebellion, no more daring acts of kindness." He warned. "You mean we won't get to run through the burning buildings?"

He wanted to laugh but instead he watched me intently. I drew my fingers over contours of his face. He held my limp body closer but wasn't looking at me. He eyes were facing the ground, I moved forward and placed my lips on his.

Deepening the kiss I walked back till my hand hit the vase on the nearby table. It fell and broke making a loud noise. I heard faint and panicked voices. "Mrityunjay needs to change his decision Kria can't marry Rey, They won't be able live together." I guess it was Asva Maa. "Mrityunjay has sent Kria to meet Rey, and I heard something breaking from his room. I just hope they both are safe."

The voices became clearer, I opened my eyes and everyone stood behind Reyaansh. I tried to push him but he to too busy. I again pushed him, harder this time. Everyone who stood behind had their jaws dropped on floor.

"Kya hua?"

I made him turn towards them and hid behind him wrapping my hands around his chest. According to my thoughts he had to be embarrassed but his reaction was completely opposite. "Can you all leave us alone please?" he said sternly.

"Yaa"

"Sure"

"Take you sweet time"

"Yup" Taani and Neha smirked but everyone else had got the unimaginable shock, they left taking that shock. Being a shameless creature he continued from where he had left. He placed on his couch and held me close. His hand moved up to my back as his lips danced across mine, soon I slept.

When I got up evening had turned into a dark night. He was sleeping by my side holding my lehenga tight on my waist with his face was covered with my dupatta. I removed my dupatta from his face, he nuzzled on my collar bone in his sleep.

He looked like a kid who had slept peacefully after a long time. His eyes opened few minutes later and watched me intently. "What? Why are you staring?" I said.

"I'm not staring. Im observing"

He brushed his lips against my ear, "A Strong girl who couldn't return to land of her birth but is welcomed across seas to rebuild Vardha in Kalpi. Will you my Queen?"

"Yes"

"Just yes?" he pouted, I kissed his cheek. His face gave a smirk and hands loosened the threads of my choli. Covering both us with blanked he made love to me.

So here ends this FF... i'm gonna miss this alot.. as it was my fav..
