He was lying on the hospital bed clenched between hundreds of wires.. A faint smile adorned his face.. as if he was satisfied.. satisfied to be here..

She was standing outside leaning on the glass wall of the hospital room, staring at the almost lifeless figure without even blinking once.. Tears have dried from her eyes.. She slid down to the floor still looking at him.. She looked all messed up and shattered.. Her clothes were blood-stained..So was her face... Fresh tears came to her eyes..

"Dr. Riddhima Gupta, you are under arrest!" said a policeman from behind.

"Ridhimaa Gupta nahi.. Riddhima Armaan Mallik" she said wiping her tears..

She stood up..still looking at him.. " He needs me.." she whispered lightly..

" We cant wait for all this drama of yours.. dont compel us to force you" said the policemen sternly.

"But.." she whispered..

"Sir.. plz try to understand..She.." said a voice..

"Nahi Rahul.." she said.. "I just want to meet him for the last time.." she continued

Policeman nodded.. "You have 10 mins.." She smiled wiping her tears and moved forward to enter the room.

Her heart wrenched seeing him like this.. She went towrds him and settled herself on a stool near his bed. her eyes welled up seeing his state. Her trembling hands took hold of his lifeless hands.. She lightly kissed them..

"I love you Armaan.. i always had.. and i always will" she whispered. He didnt respond. The bullet had hit him right in his heart. His heartbeats were faint. She caressed his face. She saw a red mark near his mouth and smiled as old memories came rushing to her mind.

Red...the colour of love.. or should i say "Laal" . Dats how he fondly use to call it..

Armaan always said "jo feel laal kehne me aati hai vo tumhare Red me kaha.." And i always used to laugh.. Red was armaan's favourite colour.. Sauce wala laal to be specific. And not only the colour.. even this "sauce" was his jaan. Dont give him anything but sauce to eat and he would be the happiest person in the world. Who knew our destinies were bound together by the colour red...becoz thats how we exactly met..

FLASHBACK

5 Years Back.. Sanjeevani, Delhi..

It was the first day for the interns.The best students from the topp medical colleges all over india were selected for internship in Sanjeevani.There was alot of hustle busle all around. Everyone in the hospital were doing arrangements for the new chapter that was goin to start today..

After the initial orientation.. the interns were asked to report at 12 noon.

Locker Room:

A girl entered with a wide smile on her face. It was a dream-come-true situation for her.She was standing at her dream destination as a intern. This was a happiest day of her life.

"Thank you God!!! thanku so much.. i love you.." she said closing her eyes.

"Ahh.. lucky god.. hun.. " came a voice from behind teasing her..

"Rahul.. ahh..u are so.. I hate u.." she replied.

"Haan.. haan.. thik hai..to mujhe konsa tumse pyar hai" he chuckled.

"Rahul"

"Riddhima"

"Rahul"

"Muskaan" said another voice from behind. Both looked to see who was it.

"Hey.." riddhima said.

"Arre nice to meet you.. I'm muskaan" she said very cheekily.

"hello guys.. did i miss anything??" another voice came. "I'm nikita" she continued

"Ahhaan.. you missed me lady" said a guy coming inside winking."Sidhant.. naam to suna hi hoga"

"Nahi suna.. lekin ab sun lia.hahah." said muskaan laughing.. Everyone laughed

"so, we are all before time.. chalo lets see the hospital" said rahul..

"Haan.. chalo cafeteria chalte hai.. mujhe bhuk lagi hai bohot" said muskaan.

"Abhi se cafe?? " rahul made a face..

"To kya hai..shubh kaam se pehle pet puja kar le to kaam acha hota hai" muskaan defended..

"Chlo guys.. ms. smile ne kaha to chalna hi padega naa" sid said flirting..

They entered the cafe and settled themselves.

"Guys.. let me and muskaan make the order,, you guys have a talk" ridhhima said and she and muskaam moved towards the counter.

While a guy was talking on the phone while balancing his phone on his shoulder and carrying a tray in his hand.

"Haan.. dad.. i've reached on time.. Why r u so tensed.. u knw.. i m the best.." he spoke on the phone.. " Haan bhai.. sauce thodi aur daalna.. tera kya jaata hai" he said to the canteen guy... "Haan dad.. ab bye.. shaam ko milta hu na.. bye bye bye.. love u" he turned with the tray in his hand and Banggg...

She was standing with her mouth open. He was looking down with his mouth open.

Muskaan was looking at both of them with her moth open.

"Ye kya kiya tumne" both riddhima and the guy shouted in unison.

"Maine.. maine kya.. tum dekho kya kiya tumne.. mere saare kapde khrab kar diye" ridhhima answered back..

"Tumhe apni dress ki padi hai.. dekho tumhare wajah se meri saari sauce gir gayi" he said sulking.

"sauce??.. have you lost it.. meri puri dress khrab kar di and you care about ur sauce" she said unbelievingly..

"To.. hun. to tum to change kar sakti ho.. but meri sauce" he retorted

"Oye.. tu kya sauce .. sauce kar rha ha.. tera burger bhi to gira hai" muskaan spoke confusingly.

"Muskaan.. tumhe uske burger ki padi hai.. mere kapde" riddima said

"Yar.. muskaan.. rite?? burger nhi.. mera sauce" he was about to say.

"Shut up.. " riddhimaa shouted.." kya ye sauce sauce lga rakha hai.. aur muskaan tu.. tu bhi kya bol rhi hai"

"Arre tum bechari muskaan pe kyu cheek rhi hu.. galti to tumhari hai" armaan answered back.

"You.. you.. you"

"Kya you you ..you.. aise badi badi aakhen karke kyu ghoor rhi ho mujhe.. i know im hot.. but plz control urself"

"Shut Up"...

"Shutup Guys" shouted rahul coming between them. "Ye kya laga rakha hai tum logo ne.. hospital me ho tum" he continued..

"Rahul.. See what have she/he has done" armaan n riddhima yelled in unison.

"Rahul.. ye tumhara naam kaise jaanta hai" riddhima asked and rahul looked towards her

"Rahul.. ye tumhara naam kaise jaanti hai" armaan asked and he towards him.

"Vo mera best friend hai" she replied and dragged rahul to her side.

"Excuse me...Vo mera best friend hai" and dragged him to his side.

"Rahul.. kaun hai ye" riddhima gave him killing looks...

"Rahul... kaun hai ye" armaan gave him killing looks..

"Guys.. cut this crap" rahul said annoyed. "Armaan... riddhima.. Riddhima.. armaan" he introduced them. and they were still looking at him with questioning eyes.

"Ok.. armaan.. ridhima was my clg best friend.. and riddhima.. me and armaan have been best of friends from our childhood" Rahul explained..

"Chalo .. lets go" said Rahul and moved forward while armaan followed him after poking tongue at riddhima.

"Idiot" riddhima cursed him under her breath

That was our first meeting.. Never had i thought that i would love this stupid guy so dearly.. Never had i thought this guy would love me so selflessly.. I never realised when our hatred turned into friendship.. and when our friendship turned into special' friendship.. He never proposed me.. nor did i.. but we knew.. We knew we loved each other.. And our friends knew it.. even before us.. But when it was the time to take our relationship to the next level.. he backed out.. He broke my heart.. He broke all my dreams..He broke me..

FLASHBACK

"Arre.. armaan suno to" she said only to see his retreating figure...

"Ye hua kya hai isee.. aajkal kitna irritated rehta hai" she said to herself..

"Yo.. ridzz.. whats up" said rahul seein her. "Ghar nhi gayi ab tak"

"Haan bas.. jaa hi rhi hu.." she smiled..

"Chal.. i'll drop you" said rahul..

"Ok"

And what they saw in the parking was the most shocking sight for them. Armaan was standing with a girl kissing her. Tears welled up in riddhima's eyes instantantly. Rahul got really angry and went upto armaan. He pulled armaan from that girls hold...

"What hell are u upto dude" he shouted at him.

"What??" armaan said casually.

"What do you mean by what'" rahul said in anger

"What.. i mean.. dis is my life ..i can do wat i wnt.. whats the big deal"

Rahul held him with his collar.

"Rahul.. ye kya kar rhe ho" ridhima tried to free armaan..

"Get a grip man!!!!" armaan angrily said adjusting his shirt..

Riddhima went upto armaan.. and cupped his face..

"Armaan..baby.. i know i must have hurt you.. tell me whats the problem" she said caresssing his face..

"Oh.. plz.. back off riddhimaa" he said pushing her. "Ok.. so let me clear it now.. fine we were in a relation.. but tum shaadi waadi tak pohoch gayi yar" "I was never serious for you girl.. You were just a timepass for me.. Thoda maza tumne liya.. thoda maine.. and now its over.. Waise bhi u r not my type"...

Ridhima was shocked to hear this.. This cant be her Armaan.. Why is he doin this to her.. She fell to her knees and her eyes were red from crying. Rahul was standing there like a statue. He couldnt believe that armaan could say something like dat.

"Armaan.. bhai.. ye .. ye kya keh rhaa hai tu" rahul tried to talk calmly..

"Oh!! plz man.. dont act like this Rahul.. pta hai mujhe kya hai tere and iske beech.. Sab janta hu tum kya relation share karte ho.. In short.. ye hum dono ko ghuma rhi hai.. she is a characterless b*" armaan said this and rahul slapped him hard on his face.

"You bloody.. how can u even think that abt us.. me n riddhima.. have u lost it" rahul shouted angrily and held him by his collar.

Armaan pushed back rahul.

"No..rahul.. not again.. i havee to go.. see shez waitng..." he said winking and sat in his car with the girl and drove off..

Riddhima took her face in her hand and cried bitterly. He could see her from the rear view mirror. His heart skipped a beat seeing her like this.. a lone tear escaped his eyes. He stopped the car at some distance and gestured the girl to get out of the car..He handed her some money.. and thanked her.

"I am sorry baby.. im sorry.. i love you and always will love only you.. But i cant spoil your life for my priorities.. i'm sorry" "All my life my dad gave me everything i wanted and now i have to stand for him" he said to himself wiping his tears..

"I dont deserve you.. i am a criminal"..
