Rahul looked at the couple inside the room. They were truly made for each other.He smiled.

Rahul's POV:

Armaan Mallik. My best friend. The best person anyone could ever be.We were together since our childhood.I lost my parents at an early age and from den armaan was my only support. He and his father treated me as a part of there of there own family. But me.. what did i do. was I even worth of being called his friend.?? His best friend?? After what he did to riddhima, what he said about us, i almost boycotted him. Never did i try to ask him.. why he was doing all this.. Why his love for riddhima faded after the 5-day leave he took.. why he no more cared for our friendship after that 5-day leave.. Was i only concerned for riddhima.. and ignored to see armaan's pain??

FLASHBACK:

Riddhima was totally broken after what armaan did to her. So was rahul. Armaan blamed him for having an affair with his love.In a month after this incident Armaan had distanced himself from all his friends. Most ot the times he remained irritated and behaved rudely with everyone. Riddhima's marriage was fixed to one of the richest bussinessman in india. She was getting married within one week.

"Riddhima.. kyu kar rhi ho aisa.. I know u r not happy with this marriage" Rahul asked riddhima..

"I'm happy Rahul, jab mumma papa khush hai to mai bhi khush hu" she replied.

"Aur nhi to kya, us kamine ke gum me roti rahe" muskaan intervened.

"Muskaan.. vo aaj bhi armaan se hi pyar krti ha.. jab bhi vo iske saamne aata hai..ise" rahul defended

"Aisa nhi hai Rahul, aur mujhe is shaadi se koi problem nhi hai.. shaadi ke baad vaise bhi mai mumbai shift ho jaugi and sab theek ho jaega dheere dheere.. I can handle myself dont worry" riddhima cut him inbetween..

"yeh hui naa.. meri sherni wali baat.. " Muskaan hugged her. All three smiled.

Later in the locker room:

All the interns were sitting when Armaan enterd.Without looking at anyone... He kept some files and was about to leave when riddhima stopped him.

"Dr. mallik.. ek minute.."

"Jaldi bolo.. mere paas time nahi hai" he said rudely

"yeh meri shaadi ka card hai.. you are cordially invited" she said handing him a card.

Armaan was taken aback with her words. He quietly took the card and saw her name on the card.

" ohhh.. so bad.. tumne rahul ko bhi chhod diya.. tch tch tch" he said mocking looking towards rahul.

Rahul was about to say something when Muskaan stood up.. ready with her sherni avtar.

"Haan.. haan tujhe bada bura lag rha hai uske liye" muskaan said angily.

"Kabhi dost tha mera.. isne is ladki ke liye meri dosti tod di.. and dekho kya hua.. taras to aega hi"

"Teri to.. " muskaan pulled up her sleeves..but armaan turned and left the place.

"Dekho dekho to iski himmat .. chala gya.. ahhh" muskaan continued

"Muskaan.. rellaxx.. let it be" rahul calmed her down

Armaan walked into the fire escape and sat as tears made way through his eyes. He saw the card and his hands trembled as he carresed riddhima's name on it.

"I'm sorry riddhima.. i know i've hurt you.. but i dont have any other option.. what im doing is for ur good.. plz forgive me. plz forgive me.. i love you" he silently weeped.

The Wedding Day:

Riddhima was looking beautiful in her bridal attire. She looked like an angel.. But her eyes said something else. Although she was smiling to to show that she was happy, her eyes told a different story. Her eyes showed her sorrow. Muskaan and nikki were sitting with her. All of them were quiet as they didnt wanted discuss the topic that would make riddhima sad.

"Riddhima.. tumne mujhe bulaya" said rahul as he entered her room..

"Main tumse akele me kuch baat krna chahti hu" she said and muskaan and nikki left the room nodding..

"Haan bolo" rahul asked

"Main shaadi se pehle us se ek baar milna chahti hu" she said without taking armaan's name but rahul understood.

"Par.. kyu.. tum janti ho vo nhi aega.. he doesnt cares for u "

"Please Rahul.. bs ek baar.. ek baar puchna chahti hu us se.. kyu kiya usne aisa.. kya usne kabhi mujse pyar nhi kiya..plz ek baar" said riddhima as tears welled up in her eyes

"Par"

"Please rahul.. i beg of you.. plz use ek baar yaha le aao.. plzz.. vo tumhari baat zarur manega..plzzz"

"Theek hai.. i'll try.. but please dont keep any hopes from him" said rahul and left

Riddhima closed her eyes and let her tears flow.

Rahul reached Armaan house."Armaan.. Armaan" he shouted at the top his voice but got no answer. Then he saw the household help and he asked him. "Ramu kaka, where's armaan?? is he home??"

"Haan.. rahul baba.. vo apne kamre me he honge..subah se kahi nhi gaye" he replied.

Rahul thanked him and rushed to armaan's room. He was a little hesitant entering after what all happened between them. He slowly knocked the door but no answer. He knocked a little harder but still no answer. He pushed the door open and what he saw was the most shocking sight for him.Armaan was sitting beside the bed. His face was tear stricken. His eyes bloodshot red. He held a photograph close to his heart.Seeing this.. Rahul coudnt move as if he was rooted to the floor. He could only whisper a mere "Armaan" which was almost inaudibe.

Armaan saw rahul standing on the door. He got up and went towards him.rahul was still staring at his face. Not being able to control himself Armaan hugged him. Rahul came to senses by armaan's sudden move.

"I'm sorry, mere bhai.. i've hurt you so much" armaan said weeping still hugging rahul.

"Arm..Armaan.. ye.. kya.. kya hua hai" rahul said hugging him back.

Armaan didnt answer.

"Armaan.. r u ok?? tum " rahul was not able to speak.. he was too shocked to see him in this condition.

"I love her Rahul, i really do.. I love her" armaan replied sobbing.

"Ar..armaan!.. tu.. thik hai na?" rahul questioned.. he too had tears seeing armaan in this state..

And then as if reality struck to Armaan.. he pushed rahul away from the hug..

"Tu.. tu.. yahan kya kar rha hai.. jaa aaj teri best friend ki shaadi hai na.. go.. just get out of here" he said rudely.

"Armaan.. tujhe kya hua hai.. bta mujhe"

"Mujhe kya hona hai.. u just go away.. i dont need anyone..just go.. go"

"Main nahi jauga.. jab tak tu mujhe sach nhi btata" he said holding armaan from his shoulders.

"Kaisa sach... just go to hell man.. dont u understand i dont want to talk to u" he shrugged him off rudely..

"Im not blind armaan.. tera dard teri aankhon me saaf nazar aa rha hai.. tu jhuth bol sakta hai.. but your eyes...your eyes are betraying you.. Are u telling me the truth or shoulld i call riddhima and tell her everything" rahul said..

"Nahi.. plz riddhima ko kuch mat bolna.."

He slid down to the floor taking the support of the bed.. Tears fell from his eyes. Rahul tapped his shoulder assuringly and sat next to him waiting for hhim to start.

"Tujhe yaad hai Rahul.. us din mujhe ek call aaya tha ghar se" to which Rahul nodded.

FLAShBACK:

Everyone was sitting in the cafe.. and enjoying their break.Rahul was playing game on armaan's cell when it rang..

"Oye.. tere ghar se call hai" Rahul said handing the phone to armaan.

"Ghar se..?? Dad to iss time office me honge.. lemee see" armaan said while taking the call and went out to listen.

" Hello"

"Hello, armaan beta" said a voice

"Hey!! karan uncle.. how are you!! long time..hun" he answered back excitedly.

"Beta, where are you, i want you home right now.."

"Uncle.. i'm in hosspital.. is everything fine.. Where's dad" he asked with concern.

"Everything's fine Armaan.. just a little work.. Come soon"

"Yaa.. Im coming.." he said and cut the call..

He went to the cafe.

"Kiska call tha armaan..??" asked riddhima..

"Umm.. karan uncle ka.. kuch kaam hai unhe.. i have to leave"he answered.

"But yours duties??" she asked.

"I'll talk to Dr. Keerti.. some urgent work i guess.. otherwise.. he wouldnt have called me like this.. chalo.. see u guys then" armaan left from there.

MALLIK MANSION:

Armaan reached his house. He was still wondering what was so urgent that karan asked him to come home leaving his duties.As he entered Karan was sitting on the sofa.

"Oh! my boy.. u r here" he smiled.

"Yeah.. everythings fine i suppose" he smiled back.

"Come with me" he said with a straight face and they moved up the stairs.

They entered the room of his father and armaan was shocked to see his condition.

"Dad" he shouted and ran up to him.

His father was lying on the bed. His body was covered with tubes and wires.He had an oxygen mask on his mouth and the monitor was continuously showing his faint heartbeat.

"Ye kya.. kya hua.. Dad ko" armaan said panicking.

Tears made way through his eyes. His dad was his only family. He loved him like anything. And this was the worst nightmare for him. To he his dad in this condition.

"Uncle, tell me what happened.. and.. why is he here.. let's take him to the hospital.. i.. i.. will call the ambulance" armaan said searching for his phone..

"Armaan.. armaan" karan controlled him. "We can't take him to the hospital" he continued.

"But why.. he needs immediate medical help" armaan sobbed.

"Armaan.. i have called the best doctors for him.. dont worry. he will be fine.." said karan consoling him.

"But.. why.. i..ye sab kaise.."

"Your Dad has been shot armaan.. and its not safe for him to come in public view" karan answered calmly..

"Shot???" armaan was shocked.

"Armaan.. listen to me carefully now.. Jo ab mai tumhe batane jaa rha hu.. That may come as a shock to you.. Mallik (armaan's dad) kabhi nahi chahta tha ki tumhe ye sab pta chale.. But i dont have a choice now.. I have to tell you the truth about your dad now.. You need to know the truth of Billy Mallik"

Armaan looked at him and asked him to continue.

"Armaan..Your father.. he is a underworld king" karan said and armaan was taken aback.. as if the floor has slipped under his feet. He was shocked beyond limits.

"What the hell are you saying Mr. karan Kapoor!!! Are u even in your senses. My dad runs one of the biggest construction empire in India.. And u are trying to defame him" armaan retorted at him.

"Armaan.. yehi sach hai beta.. Tumhare dad ek bure insaan nahi hai beta.. He has always worked against the people who are fake.. who are cheaters.. jo dusro ko dukh dete hai.. tumhare dad ne sirf unhe dukh diya hai.. Unhone kabhi jaan bhujh kar kisi innocent insaan ko dukh nhi diya.."

"Ye sach nahi hai.. aap aisa kyu kar re hai uncle.. why r u doing dis" armaan said still not believing.

"Armaan.. jitna jaldi ho sake iss sach ko accept kar lo.. Billy kabhi nahi chahta tha tumhe ye sab pta chale.. par vo log sab barbaad kr denge.. Tumhare dad ki saari mehnat.. sab khatam ho jaegi...They will destroy this country.. Ab sirf tum ye sab rok sakte ho beta... Armaan tumhe.. tumhe.. BILLY KI JAGAH LENI HOGI"

"Nahi.. ye kabhi nahi ho sakta.. Main ek doctor hu..Maine logo ki jaan bachaana seekha hai.. unki jaan lena nahi"

"You are his only heir.. and you have to take his place.. Agr mere hath me hota to kabhi aisa nhi hone deta main.. But agar ye power galat hatho me chali gayi to it will be disastrous for the whole world."

"Nahi.. kabhi nahi.. i will never do what u want me to do.. aisa kabhi nahi ho sakta"

"Armaan.. tumhe ye karna hi hoga.. aur kisi ke liye nahi to apne dad ke liye"

This time he didnt reply.. He turned back to his dad and sat besides him. His eyes were filled with tears.

"I want to be alone with him for sometime" he said.

"Take care" Karan put a hand on his shoulder consoling him and left.

Armaan had many questions in his mind and no one to answer them. He felt helpless. he took his father's hands in his and cried his heart out. He knew his dad needed him. But what about his own principles. Being a doctor.. he vowed to always help people.. and now destiny wanted him to do the opposite.

Days passed and armaan hadn't still recovered from the shock. He informed in the hosp. that he was out for some important work.

But some more revelations awaited him.

He was taking out some medicines from the shelf.. when a diary fell from the there.

Armaan picked it up and opened it.. The First page read..
