The reality of the past years gone by is that every top actor has been pit against SRK. Supposedly they take SRK down and he no longer has the stardom to remain on top. Yet, it is SRK who returns the next year against another different actor. Case in point: the 90's and 2000's has seen him go up against Big B, then Hrithik, then Akshay, then Salman, and now Aamir. And you can also sprinkle Vivek, Abhishek, Ranbir and many others in between as well. Just the fact that he's been the sole actor to have remained on top proves his consistent achievement as an actor.

Coming to the past few years, we know that he's not had the biggest hits of the year. Salman has. But SRK has still been ruling the overseas market. In that sense, even Salman can't be said to have the top position since he doesn't defeat Shah overseas. Then there's Aamir whose has a good run but is never been known to have been the top actor. SRK and Salman have star power that Aamir doesn't have. Even with all the good movies, the media still keeps on harpering about the competition between SRK-Salman only. The competition now rests between the three Khans -- and noone is apparently dominating at the moment. All of them keep beating each other with a new movie.

And say what you might, the media has consistently placed only SRK at the top since the start of his career.

So to answer you're question: No, we are not delusional. We have just been through this countless of times to even care. SRK has a drive that puts him in a different race track. As fans, we never have to worry about his supposed downfall.
