IF YOU BUT KNEW
Ranveer sat there shattered. His whole world ended just at a blink of a moment. He no longer knew who he was. He was crushed to such a point that he could not stop his tears. He sat there hugging his knees and crushing them to his chest , in the hope that it would lessen burden of his heart but it couldn't. All he could see was the doctors rushing here and there and the red light outside the OR. The OR in which his lady love , Panchi lies.
He crumbled the paper in his hand. The last which Panchi gave her before her...he promised her a better life , a better place but all he could give her was sadness. His head throbbed with pain as he remembered their last conversation. He was hell rude to her , whereas she had always been there for her. And now she was in the hospital , lying cold on the bed and several people cutting in to see what happened. Yes , Ranveer Shergill had failed his best friend again.
He didn't know how long he sat on the floor , crying and mumbling her name and bad-mouthing himself. "How could you Panchi...how could you? How could you hide this from me? That you are at last stage of cancer? How could you..." he yelled and banged his fists on the wall till it bled and became blue.
He closed his eyes , letting his pain , anguish and heartache flow down from his eyes. He knew KD , Kiya and Piddi would be here anytime soon. But all he wanted was to look at her face , one last time , her smile , her sparking eyes which always vibrated with energy , her fragrance which always made him feel like he was home and most of her love. How could he be so stupid to not understand that she loved him , and he too loved her back.
He knew had wasted their time by staying with other girls but his heart always beated for her. "I love you Panchi Rastogi..." he whispered as he knew he had lost her forever. He knew that she was no more as his heartbeat stopped then and there. Loosing Panchi was like loosing life and if she was not there with him , then he too didn't have the right to live.
He closed his eyes and soon saw a white but serene light beam from which Panchi smiled widely. She laughed at him and extended her hand towards him. "Nonu...chaalo...come on...we're getting late..." she smiled. Ranveer felt himself putting his hand in hers as they joined their souls together , forever.
