While Angad Bedi waits in the wings to play the warrior king..........

A ngad Bedi (son of former cricketer Bishen Singh Bedi) who was to make his big ticket show debut in Prithviraj Chauhan on Star Plus in September last will have to wait some more. Reason? Rajat Tokas, who portrays the role of the younger Prithvi is such a hit with the viewers, that the makers (Sagar Arts) and the channel want to milk his popularity to the last drop before they bring on Bedi.

Bedi was due to debut in the historical show last September, but now it seems like he will appear only in February-end or March. Says the show?s creative producer, Moti Sagar, ?Prithviraj Chauhan led a short but an eventful life. His childhood was full of adventure. For instance, he killed a lion at the age of 13-14 and then there are various incidents that happened when he went to a Mahashivratri mela, then there are folk tales about his exploits during his growing up years. ?We have been trying to show this phase of Prithviraj and these are being liked by the viewers. Also, Rajat is able to connect with the young and the old alike, so all these factors are responsible for showing his childhood life as much as possible.? Tokas, an artiste from Delhi has worked with the Sagars in Sai Baba and according to Sagar, he is a talented boy who is sincere and has a lot of potential.? Currently stationed in Baroda on the sets at Sagar Studios, Tokas says he?s happy that his performance is being appreciated. ?Though I wish I had got to kill a real lion.?Meanwhile, Bedi says he is waiting to take over from Tokas. Prithvi prattle ? Cousins Shakti and Amrit Sagar were the second-generation producers who had taken up the mammoth task to set Prithviraj Chauhan rolling. ?It was our grandfather Ramanand Sagar?s dream to make this show,? they had said at the launch. ? Huge palaces have been built at the Sagars? studio in Baroda where intensive research has gone into the costumes, archi tecture, design, language etc.

? Prithviraj Chauhan was known not only as a great warrior but also for his passionate love story with Princess Sanyogita. ? The show is aired on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, at 9 pm. The show went on air on May 12 and has an average TRP of 8.3.
