A wager is considered illegal as per Indian Law.... Indian Law doesn't quite allow Casinos within its territory... Cuz its gambling after all...

The ones that exist are either illegal or in the sea... Outside Indian territorial waters... The few Casinos that Goa boasts of are mainly off shore Casinos... And the Casino owners have to pay a heavy sum to carry on with their business.... Highly discouraging.....

Now for the question... An embargo on the Casino industry is surely deprieving the tourism industry of a lot of money that they could have earned otherwise.... When selected states like Goa can have an extremely low duty/tax on alcohol sales n stuff... Shouldnt the law make an exception to Casinos too?

Now we can take a cue from Las Vegas... cant we?

IMO - Legalise gambling - Mandate 40% of house earning to development of the country. Someway to pull out money from Rich apart from taxes. There are many negative points of legalizing Casinos but anyhow there are plenty of illegalised gambling outlets that prevails in India. So doesn't matter atleast some form of revenue of govt. to pocket. 😉

Gambling is a flourishing business, I have invested in gambling stocks - touch wood, doing good so far but one visit to vegas squares things out 😆 😆 .

The point is illegal outfits hardly earn the govt any revenue... So why not legalise them and extract money from them??? 😉

Casinos in general brings along with it loan sharking, mafia, addiction to gambling, increase in crime rate etc

The govt have a tough time controlling all the above in a world where no gambling is allowed.

To legalize gambling in India in the current socio-economic situation will be equivalent to saying

"Where is that Axe, my leg is itching let me step onto it"

Naah u c gambling and drugs n all are prevalent... making it illegal makes NO difference to those who run the gambling dens...

Au contrarie I think... Legalising milder versions of gambling like Casions in specific regions like Goa will give a boost to the tourism industry and will earn the govt some revenue...

And now those same politicians are hiring those girls to perform in their election rallies in hope of drawing a larger crowd.😆

IMO, Govt. can't act as the moral police in each and every single issue because of the simple fact that there are too many alternative ways which though illegal but the Govt. fails to plug. It's better to legalise them but make them follow a certain code and keep a check on them to ensure that they follow those codes (like not allowing anyone below 18).
