Part 18

"tum geet se baat kyu nhi kar rhe??" asked geet as she sat in front of him. He was so lost that he didn't even hear her speaking. Seeing him not responding she got confused and held his cheeks with both her hands cupping his face and asked "tum geet se gussa ho??" maan's reverie broke feeling her touch and he immediately nodded in no. "fir tum geet ke sath khelte kyu nhi??"

"geet mera man nhi tum jao khelo..." he said removing her hands from his cheek. "maanu!!!" she said pulling his jacket to gain his attention again. He rolled his eyes hearing that... maanu yuck it doesn't suit him. "geet don't call me that" he said pushing her hand off. "nhii maanu maanu maanu" she started repeating shouting out making him glare at her and then she started laughing realizing he got irritated.

"maanu nhi call me maan" he said holding her by shoulder. "nhi geet ko maanu pasand hai" she said laughing and pulling his cheek irritating him more. Gosh he was really cursing the day when she heard that on television and then got behind his ass calling him that whole day. "geet!!!" he said shaking his head knowing its waste arguing that with her and decided to just leave her alone.

She seeing him getting sad again and got upset herself. She picked her bunny and moved toward him on the couch and sat on his lap, straddling him with her legs and hugged him tight keeping her head on his neck. He could feel her down too and asked what happened to her. "geet sorry hai maanu gussa mat ho" she said pulling her ears.

How could he just stay sad when he has such a cutie angel with him. The girl doesn't even know the reason for his sadness, but she was doing everything she could to make him happy. He hugged her to him wrapping him arms tightly around her and patted her hair. She kissed his cheek and he held her tightly trying to control urge to return the favour.

At morning geet woke up hearing some voice from outside. It was early morning and she never heard people making such loud voice in this house. She was earlier scared to go out but then the curiosity got the better of her brain and she just decided to peek out only. Holding her bunny by hand she opened the door an inch and looked around only to see the corridor empty.

She scratched her scalp and step out of the room and bend from the railing of the corridor only to see maan standing there in mid in white kurta-pyjama and there were few people with him too... all looked quiet old and grim. She got scared and ran back to her room and closed the door tight. Her breathe was heavy and her eyes were scared seeing other man.

The loud voice of slamming the door caught maan's attention and he understood she had got up and seen them. Thinking she is scared, he stood up from his place and excused himself for some moment. He opened the door to see her sitting on bed looking scared. He went toward her and she immediately jumped on him hugging him tight.

"kuch nhi hua... just relax they are nice people!!!" he said patting her head. "wo hmare ghar me kyu hai???" she asked looking at him in eye. "puja hai geet, wo puja kar rhe hai uske baad chale jaenge." She held his kurta in her fist and he knew she was scared, but still she was calmer from her initial days... does her fear overcome or she trusted him more than her fear he doesn't know, but whatever it was, it made him happy.

"chalo you rest I am going" he said making her sit back but she refused him to go... "geet I have to go bacha..." he said patting her arm. "mai bi chalu???" she asked seeing him go away. "there will be others too!!! Tum darogi nhi???" he said folding his hand on his chest. "tum geet ka hath pakdoge???" she asked after a moment. He nodded and she immediately held him tightly.

He firstly moved her to bathroom and washed her face and changed her in a white pyjama and top and wrapped a white dupatta on her shoulder. Ok she looked decent with the spaggeti he made her wear inside and moved toward door. She immediately held his hand and walked behind him.

As she saw the old people, he could feel her raised heartbeat. He immediately tightened his hold looking her in an eye to assure her. She saw the people and stood beside maan. He nodded at the people and they started the pooja. He too sat on his place while geet settled beside him. The pandits started chanting the mantras while he folded his hands and closed his eyes.

He only knew how heavy his heart felt at the moment, his mind just revolving around the past. Pandits told him to sprinkle something in holy fire that was lit in mid. He opened his eyes to does that and then glanced at his side to see her sitting imitating him and folding her hand like his. His eyes were just fixed on her as he loved her each antic.

He glanced at the picture in left of his wife and daughter, for whom this puja was kept. Yes today was the death anniversary of his wife, his daughter... his life was torn this single day only and today was the day he died himself. He looked at his right to see her as she serenely prayed for whatever she wanted, her mouth murmuring something and her eyes were closed tight as she prayed. He moved toward her, bending a bit and took the end of the dupatta that was lying near his side and wrapped it around her head.

She opened her eyes and looked at him while he just adored her look at that way... she looked so different adorned in that white. He pointed from his eyes to pray and she nodded and closed her eyes again going back in her praying mode.

After the prayer was over, she again held his hand in her clutch tightly while he just shook his head at that. The pandits settled for eating and he asked her to sit in the corner. She nodded and sat on the other corner of the hall looking at him curiously, while he arranged plates for them. He then took the bowl of food and served them. She noted each and every moment of his and again came to stand by him when he served all of them once.

She was scared of these people but when none of them said anything to her, or even looked at her deeply she somewhat overcome her fear a bit... but yes only a bit and to these few people only... or else she was as scared as she ever was.

When he saw that their plate was getting empty, he was going to fill up again, but she again tagged along with him and saw how he took a spoon of veg and kept in their plate. When he was about to repeat for others, she took from it from his hand and excitedly said, "geet karegi" he had to step back seeing her excitement and the glow of her face followed her as she served everyone.

After the pooja was over, he bent to touch their feet, she too repeated his antic but pandits stepped back. "are nhi betiya nhi chute pair" they said and raised their hands to bless her but she immediately stepped back holding his hand. He looked at her and moved her forward so that they can bless and each one of them blessed her well being.

"bhagwan tum dono ki Jodi banaye rakhe" one of them said and he looked them in shock and then at her who was all so ignorant of all this.

He was sitting in his room looking at the picture of suhana and mansi and cried, cried out loud... hoping for this darkness to consume him. All this was just so revolting so confusing, it shouldn't be like this, it was so wrong... was he getting over his past, was he forgetting his family??? No he never wanted that... they were a part fo his life and his love. He cant be away from them no!!! he cant.

She came in his room and looked at him from the corner... he was crying!!! She had never seen him like that. She let her bunny fall where she stood and came to him, her eyes were in tears too seeing him. He felt her soft hands wiping his tears and realized her presence in the room. He kept the photo away and wrapped his hand around her waist hiding his face in her stomach. He cried and she cried too... None said anything just cried, he for his past for his present while she, she cried for him.

After a moment he got quiet and looked at her as she was still crying, he got confused for a moment and asked, "why are you crying??" she looked at him and wiped her tears off from back of her palm and said, "pata nhi" she was still sobbing hard, tears still in her eyes. He smiled at that, a big wala and then looked at the picture that was lying beside him. She too saw that and asked, "ye kaun hai??"

He hesitated for a bit, then said "ye meri wife suhana aur meri baby mansi hai" he pointed to both of them. "tumhari wife???" she asked confused and admired the woman in pic. She traced the picture of suhana and said excitedly, "geet ko aur dikhao... bhut sundar hai" "tum dekhogi??" he asked a bit excited to know that she loved them.

She nodded with a sparkle in her eyes and sat on the bed while he shuffled the cupboard for albums. After he found some, he came back and sat behind her, cocooning her in him, and kept all the albums in front. He showed her each and every pic, while she just enjoyed and asked when it was taken, while he patiently told the occasion.

She was enjoying the pic and he didn't even realized when he got lost in her, her eyes, expressions, everything. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him, until her back was pressed to his chest, and in some time, she was sitting and he was laying on her lap.

He took picture fo suhana in his arms and said sorry, sorry for breaking his promise but he just couldn't do much. The day which always was so unbearable for him, which made him die at each passing second passed like a flick of moment, how when, he doesn't know but he knew he was sharing his heart and his life with her.

OMG.. wat a change in geet..

first she did not get scared though not major change but she doing all tat was a big improvement..

and then maan falling deeply for her... he even mostly forgot his wife and baby but he cant control his feelings for her any more.. the pull tat she has for him is much more serene and he knows now..

but memory is she getting it back
