It was a bright morning, the birds were singing and the wind was humming. The world outside was cheerful and the air was fresh, but there I was sitting on my bed crying. Photos were scattered everywhere, glass shattered and the bed sheets wrinkled. What had happened no one will ever understand, but to me it felt all so real. Why did he leave me?
One Week Earlier
"I love you Raghu, I truly do" I said wrapping my arms around his neck as he lifted me off my feet in a warm embrace.
"I love you too Antara" he whispered in my ear and planted a warm and loving kiss on my ear. I blushed at the thought of all of this happening so fast. We had just met 4 months ago and already I couldn't live a day without seeing him. He meant he world to me. Laughter and joy filled the air as he twirled me around and lightly placed me on the ground.
"Oh man I'm dizzy" I whispered against his chest as he hugged me tighter shielding me from the world beyond me and him. He was the only world I wanted to stay in now. I pulled a part from his embrace and stood in front of him smiling with my hands on his waist. I couldn't help but stare him. They way his hair fell above his eyes. They way his eyebrow lifted when he smiled and the way his smiled radiated was just all so heart touching and cute. I brought out of my trance as I felt his fingers rubbing against my temple.
"What happened?" he asked as he looked me in the eye. His stare was so intense and full of love that I couldn't help but blush and hide myself in his arms.
"Nothing, I just love you so much" was all that managed to escape. He smiled and hugged me again.
"I love you too" he whispered in my ear. The day had passed on quite fast unfortunately, but to me it was the longest and best day I have ever had in my entire live. After our confession Raghu took me to the beach and then out for dinner. We talked about us and nothing but us, well sometimes I mentioned Salman Khan here in there, but my Raghu is the best. Finally reaching home he parked the jeep in front of my place and turned off the car. I unbuckled my seat belt and was about to get off when he stopped me.
"Raghu it's late" I told him as I glanced at him and trying to wiggle my hand free from his grip.
"I am not about to let go of the hand I just got a hold of" he said bringing my hand up to his lips and kissing it. I looked down and blushed away. "Did I tell you that you look damn cute when you blush like that?" Raghu said smiling at me knowing what I was about to say. "Stop it Raghu" he said mocking me. I looked at him and glared.
"Are you mocking me?" I asked angrily as I released my hand from his grip and placed both my hands on my hips.
"Me and mocking you? Of course not I dare not" Raghu said chuckling. I lifted my hand from my hip and smacked him on the shoulder. "Hey what was that for?" He winced in pain as he rubbed his shoulder.
"For being stupid. For being my stupid" I said and ran to the door. He laughed and leaned against the seat and smiled at me. I stood there and leaned against the pillar, god knows where the time went, but we were staring at each for what seemed like forever until my phone rang. "Oh shoot" I yelled as I grabbed my phone from my purse and answered it. "Hello, mom" I said quietly knowing that I was in trouble for sure. "Yeah, mom I'm almost home, I'll be there in 2 minutes. Sorry I was working on a school project and forgot to tell you" I said biting my tongue because I lied. Raghu looked and me and shook his head. I glared at him and finished talking with my mom. After hanging up, I blew Raghu a kiss and went inside, but peeped out to see Raghu catch the kiss and place it against his lips. I blushed and ran upstairs to the balcony. I got to the balcony to see Raghu just waiting for me. I looked at him and smiled. He started up the engine and blew my kiss. I caught it and placed on my heart. He frowned, but smiled and waved goodbye. Gosh could this week get any better I swear. I quickly got changed and headed to bed, or at least tried.
Four days later
It had only been four days since me and Raghu had started dating, but the way we were people would assume we were married, or at least engaged. I don't know what had gotten into Raghu, but he couldn't keep his hands off of me. Well not the terms that you are thinking, but in way that he didn't want to lose me. Every time I saw him and looked him in the eyes, besides love there was also fear. It scared me every time and when I would ask him he would ask me if I was okay telling me I was silly. Today was a big day though it was my birthday.
"Happy birthday dear" my mom said as she gave me hug. I hugged her back and told her thanks. I sat down at the table for breakfast because I was getting late for school and I still had to drop Ishaan off.
"Happy birthday didi" I heard Ishaan scream as he came running down the stairs and throwing his backpack on the couch.
"Thank you baby: I said hugging him. "Hurry up and eat we are late" I said releasing him from the hug in order to finish my breakfast. I dropped my spoon when I heard honking. "Shoot Raghu is already here. Mom bye" I said grabbing my bag and Ishaan and running out the door. I told my mom about me and Raghu and she was totally fine with his dating. In fact she loved Raghu like her own son. Ishaan and I got in the car and Raghu drove off. We dropped off Ishaan first and then headed to school. Arriving at school we quickly got out and headed to class. I was about to walk in when he pulled me back.
"Happy birthday Antara" he said as he pulled out a rose and handed it to me. I smiled and took a hold of the rose.
"Thank you Raghu" I said as I looked at the rose mesmerized at its beauty.
"Nope, that won't do. I want something sweet in return" he said looking at me. I felt his gaze drop to my lips and closed my eyes. He cupped my face and brought it closer to his. I could fill his breath on my lips and it sent the chills down my spine. I opened my eyes and noticed that his eyes were closed. Pushing him quickly I chuckled and ran into class. "Antara" he groaned as he walked into class and sat beside me. The school day passed by quickly. Everyone was wishing me happy birthday, but I mainly spent my time with my close friends Ruksana, Machmach, and of course Raghu. After school had ended I said my goodbyes and headed out with Raghu.
"So what do you have planned for me" I said buckling my seat belt as soon as I got into the jeep.
"What do you mean?" he asked as he started the engine. I looked him questioningly expecting a "I was kidding" or "It's a surprise" but nothing.
"What do you mean what do you mean?'?" I asked upset that he had nothing absolutely nothing planned.
"Well I mean I going to drop you off and then go home and study" he replied as he made a turn on my street.
"You are going to go home and study what?" I asked knowing that we had no tests coming up.
"Anatomy, what else?" he smiled at me winking.
"Raghu! You are so disgusting" I yelled smacking him on his arm.
"I have lots of things planned and something important to tell you" he said chuckling as he parked his car in front of my house. "Tell your mom you are spending the night at Ruksana's house" he said turning the car engine off.
"Why?" I asked not liking the idea.
"For me please?" he said glaring at me with his puppy eyes, knowing that I couldn't resist agreeing to him.
"Fine" I huffed as I got out of the car.
"I'll pick you up at 8 be ready" he said as he started the engine and drove off. I seriously couldn't believe this guy. Only god knew what was on his mind. I headed inside to finish up my homework before I left. It was already 7pm and it was time for me to get ready. I closed my books and went for shower after deciding what to wear. After getting readying it was already 7:55pm. I quickly headed downstairs.
"Mom, I'm staying at Ruksana's place tonight" I said kissing her on her cheek.
"Okay, that's fine. Have fun!" she said kissing me back. I heard Raghu honk the horn and I quickly ran out. There he was standing in front his jeep with bouquet of roses dressed in white shirt and black slacks. By god he looked amazing whenever he dressed like that. I smiled and walked up to him.
"You look amazing" he said as he continued to gaze at me. I quickly turned around for him so he could get a good look. I was wearing a white anarkali with had red embroidery. He whistled as I turned and I blushed. He handed me the bouquet of roses and kissing me on the cheek. "Hurry we are getting late" he said as he walked over to the other side of the jeep and opened the door. I quickly got in and so did he. We drove to god knows what destination, but something special was about to happen and I had no idea what.
