traditionally...marraiges were family affair and most families were joint families so the invitation cards used to include the names of all the male members of the family and thier spouses listed in order of thier age. when the families started breaking up...the expectations remained the same , however the closeness between dissipated...and new people entered in close circles like friends and neighbours(specifically when we are talking of NRIs).
Marraiges are inevitably war zones today because while the expectations keep growing , the closeness and participations is reducing.i guess one should be inevitably prepared for tantrums and complaints in marraige. it is distasteful but bound to happen. though i must admit i fail to see why relatives expect so much when the do nothing to help, and what is with constant importance syndrome.

I couldn't have cared less if my own name was on my wedding card...as long as my wife married the right guy!

Goodness, relatives and their tantrums!!

I have NEVER attended a wedding of my relative; I wanted to go, but had exams 😭 . Now that I am off to a more busy schedule, I wonder if I will be able to attend my cousins' wedding 😕 .... or maybe I will only go straight to my own. 😆

And I hope nobody creates such melodrama at mine; varna... my weak heart is gonna get hurt. 😳
