OMG POOJA GREAT POST

THIS VERY THING HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY THIS SUMMER,

I CAN FINALLY GET IT OFF MY CHEST SINCE MY MOM DOESN'T WANT US TO SAY ANYTHING TO HER BROTHER AND SISTER THAT CAUSED THIS

THANKS POOJA LOVE YOU FOR THIS

Well what happened was this summer my sister Payal who got married (and we miss so much even thought she is a half an hour drive away and we are at there house or they are at our house every weekend)

And when my mom, dad, and sister went to India to do her shopping, they came back with everything including the wedding cards, and on the wedding card it had my parents name my and then my sisters to be in-laws names, and my dad's mother and my sisters to be father in laws mother name. And the people in India said that this is how it is done now a day, and before leaving for India my sister phoned around card places and they said that this is how it's done.

So a month passes by and they finally come back from India and they go to my mom's brother house to show them the wedding card and they were pissed because his name or his sister's name wasn't on the card. HOW STUPID WAS THAT.

They expected to have the whole families name on the list, as if it was supposed to be a book rather than a wedding card, and then my aunt that lives in the states phones up and was all like omg my friends were shocked that her brothers or her name wasn't on the card. BULL****

So we told are parents to ignore that because we had relatives form India, London, and, Paris, (omg I loved them they were so cool and fun every night we went to bed at like 2 singing and dancing lol)

So comes the wedding there my uncles kids, came late, and when the Barat was coming they come in screaming thank god no one heard them, and thank god the camera man didn't catch them, and then the oldest one yells at my mom I was bout to say something because I had enough of their crap but barat was here, and me and one of my relative from Paris were dancing lol, and plus I thought i would be the bigger person, and thinking of a plan to steal my jiju's shoes which I did and got a hefty amount of money lol.

AND THEN FINALLY THE RECEPTION NIGHT

They get mad because no one was talking to tem even though everybody was busy greeting the guest so they leave half way. Oh well tough for them we were all enjoying are selves we had a ball dancing and getting to know my jiju's cousins and dancing with them damn it was FUN especially when all the older people left the dance floor and it was just us youngsters in a big group and taking turns in the middle, SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN

Then the next day my aunt phones off all pisses and yelling at my mother that is older than her and say's that she and her brother's family cut off all ties with off. We were sleeping and we found out about it we were about to phone and give a piece of out minds but though

THANK GOD NO MORE DRAMAWITH THEM, (my words) and then e all went to the beach and drove to Ontario, to our favorite beach Kenora, and came home and BBQed,

They probably think that we are depressed and thinking of them WELL IIT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND, SO HAPPY, AND NOT THINKING OF THEM

It used to be such that all the uncles, grandparents, etc names were put on the cards, lots has changed and people need to move with the times. I thisnk Parents names are the most important and should be put on, and thats it... But thats my opinion!!! 😉 I think its a watse of time to put the whole family tree on the invitation - who actually reads all that anyway? All I do is check the time and venue, thats it 😆 I'm actually quite rude... I always forget RSVP as well!

MY cousin's wedding invitation had nothing more than
"Josephine weds Sanjay"(with the bride and bridegroom's parents name along side)..the official card

even my cousin's sister name was not listed
lol.. now nobody can complain..it saves trouble...
but at times tradition leads to trouble inevitably...
I have seen this problem with wedding cards a lot of time..

lol EXCATLY, I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE ARE STUCK IN THE OLD TIME THINKING, IT'S RIDICOULOUS (my mom's brothers word when he read the card, no you know what's ridicoulous, the way ou all treated my MOTHER AND FATHER, that is ridicoulous, glad they said we break all rishtey with you, no more of THEIR RIDICLOUS DRAMA GOOD RIDDENS THEY ARE GONE)

A marriage is a very important event in one's life. Therefore, the card should include the close family members: mother, father, and the close siblings. After all, these are the people who help you in your problems first. The others join in when you ask them to.

The other family members, like the uncles and aunts, can be put on hold for a while...but they should be stated and introduced in the wedding. They are the sort of people who are your family members, but not really there for you every time.

According to me, the card should include the marrying couple and the close family members of the two. And those close family members are the ones who are there for you, you help you in every phase of your life, you will always love you no matter what.

My thoughts...anyone disagree? 😉

Cheers,

Anjali
