Whoever ran down Indian culture? In case you forgot, you have been pretty busy in running down American value and culture and their kids. I have no where mentioned that Indian Values are bad, just that the kind of kids that you make all American kids synonymous with exist in India as well. As you said, we want only the dollars and then also berate them for loose values ( which is so just in OUR eyes...let a Pakistani or a Chinese say that Indian culture and values are so great that even they have adopted it.....and I will accept it). Just take and take.....no give..just kick dust at the face in disgust after taking the dollars....sorry, for me that's selfish. If I ever feel I am living in such a bad place, I will go back to where I feel it's 'great'.

So far I have seen you take stand on some teens wearing low hipped variety of unmentionables peeping from under jeans...a phenomenon widely seen in india as well.....
Not as a phenomena but an exception.
Even if we take that, does not necessarily mean it's something so evil that we taint a whole generation with'loose' morals.
I cant argue if you love america and india at the same time.. you will keep switching sides... like a couple getting intimate on the beach. u will say yes thats american and I have to subsist and I am in the right place so this happens in India too
No they don't. A couple getting intimate on the beach does not happen in Inda.......a man gropping at a female on a local bus or pushing her and making cat calls after her does not happen in US. A woman walks out on her marriage at a drop of the hat in US which does not happen in India ( even that is an exaggeration but that is the random picture projected... 🤢 ) while bashing, insulting and torturing brides by the inlaws because she can be bashed up ( and I am not even considering the dowry cases) does not happen in US. So what does that prove? Us culture is bad while Indian one is great?? For every bad 'value' you can cite for US, I can give one equivalent of in India.
To accept something you have to take a stand however rigid it might appear...
you are right. My stand is not to gloat on 'my' culture by running down all 'others'. Yours is to glorify yours by running down all others AND turning a blind eye to the faults of your own. I am firm on not being judgemental just because I visualise a few unpalatable things. You are focussed on tainting everything that you see around as bad and then generalise them. And I am not backing down. Are you?? 😉

Sure an indian in boston went to jail for groping womens butts on the subway.. There is a difference bet crime and socially inappropriate behavior...which comes from a good value system

I am not running down european culture.. i am just saying there is no such thing in america,.....😭.... and you know what there is another humongous thread going on on this.... So on the note that NRI's will continue to be the butt of humor for reasons cited on those pages... I feel it might just subside... over time... But as long as our rich "nri" indians try to show off and paint a nice picture when they visit india and try to belittle and deride them with "expensive" gifts... its going to have that effect... especially since indians know whats the difference bet' ABCD and their version of ABCD...😆, and who is dying to get that indian food at the indian store and who is looking out for that indian restaurant and what not... you know action speak louder than words and movies simply depict that....😆

what are these versions?
Now.. let us please not go back to aga bai chaddee distey
because Indian born, Indian raised Indian cultural ambassador's (Shilpa shetty's) very truly indian sister Shamita was caught on camera not even wearing underwear. That seriously is butt of all humor. Kids growing up here luckily don;t judge me an Indian like shamita shetty- Thank heavens for their sense of logic 😆 yes actions speak louder than words, but they should never be generalized 😉.

wow I don't know where the accusations are being hurled from...but chill guyzzz...we are all indian nuthing changes that but a mixture of culture doesn't harm anyone...just b/c someone lives in america or sumthing doesn't make them less of a person than someone living in india...eveyone is different...even in india we have different cultures, cuisines and languages in every state...that's what makes it great...people accept each other and their cultures...so why is their bashing going on about kids who accept american culture and retain their indian culture...just b/c people live in america doesnt' mean that they suddenly are all evil and hate their culture and are stupid...and overanalyzing is just wrong to begin with...u can't base ur opinions based on silly movies or one person and yes they do make out people to look stupid..so let's all quit the hating and get along!
Peace y'all! 😃

Well, I am not the rich NRI who paints a nice picture when they go back and belittle and deride them with expensive gifts...as far as I know, almost all the Indian go back because they miss India and their people, especially their parents, gifts are bought because that is a tradition - and something foreign is still exotic to an average Indian ( I have seen people particularly averse to buying 'Made in India' goods in US while purchasing them as gifts solely because they would be derided....and yet they are indeed of the best quality! ) as well as expectation. I believe that today whatever you get in India is as good if sometimes not better than what you get here.

As for making fun, well that is a bad etiquette many of our countrymen simply do not grow out of........making fun of already confused humans who are busy figuring out whether they are grown ups or children is even more tragic. And they don't necessarily have to pick on the NRI kid - they in general pick on anyone who serves their weird sense of humour....🤢. Chances are when that NRI kid is back to where he came from, they move on pick on someone else for their entertainment.

Minnieji humor is born out of somebody's woe... A man who trips and falls might feel hurt but the bystanders will laugh out.. So what if NRI's are butt of all the humor whats wrong... NRI's can make fun of those indians back home.. The question is who really is more successful in laughing out loud...😆
