This was a shocker of an article I just read on The Hindu, online edition of the newspaper. It was written back in April 2004, so yes it is old, but if you didn't know why they actually brought Purab in and made a twist, now you know! Enjoy the articles and let me know what u guys think!

Twist in the tale FED up of playing matronly Jassi in Sony TV's popular soap, Jassi Jaise Koi Nahin, Mona Singh threatened to quit. After a frank talk with the producers, Mona Singh agreed to a compromise - a twist was added to the tale with the entry of a new man in Jassi's life! In the serial, Jassi leaves Gulmohar house when she is sacked by Mallika (Rakshanda Khan), fiance of her boss, Armaan Suri (Apurva Agnihotri). Accompanying her parents to a wedding, Jassi meets Purab (Sameer Soori), a businessman and she helps him to build a relationship with his 10-year-old stepbrother. As for the twist to the tale, it will happen in the coming weeks when Jassi sheds her 'behenji' image and appears looking hep and cool.

But if she had signed a contract with T&D (as everyone knows) how cud she threaten to quit?

I have no idea Daisy....unless she was getting sick of how T & D where taking the BLF format of the show.....

And even if a contract is signed, if she does something to breach the contract, then the contract is not going to be valid...and quitting for a specific reason might be in the contract. We don't know what the contracts states so we can't really say anything but there could be a clause that she saw in the contract that would allow her to quit if anything. But I'm glad she didn't because there would be no one else who could play Jassi like she does.
