Aap to bohot hi bade aadmi nikele ... ab to mai aapko bhaiya bulaungi ..
Mrityunjaya is written so beautifully and is truly worth reading, but it is quite clear that these boks written on just one character are always biased ...
I loved it, Hats off to Sawant but all these books with character studies and their own interpretation of mahabharata, can they be used to compare the greatness of two characters as warriors or humans?
Arjuna and Mrityunjaya, govinda, yajnaseni, kauravas ... all these books are glorifying the characters and justifying all the wrong deeds or deluding them ...
Author of Arjuna, has presented him in a very endearing way ... openly showing his weaknesses, his arrogance and faults ... his relationship with his brothers and Krishna has been beautifully presented , in the end, if you dont know the hindu mythology and havent read mahabharata ... after reading this book you will know all the events of Mahabharata but you fall in love with the main character who by the end of the book comes across as a god in the garbs of human.
Mrityunjaya and Yajnaseni or the endless amounts of books on Krishna do the same thing. Mrityunjaya proved Karna to be the tragic hero of the era at the cost of showing that Arjuna was more arrogant or even more boastful than Karna??
It is truly entertaining to see people arguing in favor of Karna after reading mrityunjaya on this forum ...
I wonder if i start defending Arjuna by quoting the book and its interpretation of the events ... how many people will tell me that oh god dont be dumb its just a book written by a human like all of us.
Even though, the same goes for Mrityunjaya...
I wish someone here would be mature enough to admit the difference between books that are a translation of MB and the books written by people that are their own interpretation of MB ... har koi agar apna apna point of view likhne lage while writing MB ... then there will be millions of versions of it In India alone.
