Thank you all for all the comments. 😊
Leaving the incompetency of the CV's aside, lets look at Jalal and his relationship with the leading ladies.
What does Jalal expects from Jodha and Ruku? What are his expectations from his marriage to both of them?
He has been married to Ruku half of his life. There is warmth and understanding. They have boundaries and expectations set. Ruku is his khaas begum and always will be. So, he expects her to leave up to the title. She is an empress, chief queen. She is been in this whole game all her life, she grew up as a moghul queen. Of course he will expect her (as a chief queen) to understand his stand as a king. Also, even if he said that he divorcing her, was he actually going to go ahead with this? MA did catch onto the fact that he had the final farmaan ready.
A farmaan would have taken more than a day to be ready to be issued, so he had this done all along. He had created 2 of them to confuse everyone.
May be he was counting on Ruku's help to overcome AK and issue the 2nd farmaan. She was unable to contribute to anything on this matter.
Whole of this track was supposed have occurred within 2-3 days? Within this time, he saw disturbing thing sin his kingdom, took a huge step to correct the wrongs and his supposedly loyal brother asked him to divorce his wife of 10 years. He was personally affected and he was in shock and he was hurt. He had to raise above his personal grief. In spite of this, he did create 2 farmaans and looking a way out of it. Probably he would have found a way by himself. But Jodha just beat him to it.
Are we expecting him to be a person with no emotions, so even at the face of a personal grief, he comes up with super duper ideas? that he be detached all the time? He takes suggestions from Ruku and everyone else. So why not Jodha? Why does taking suggestion from Jodha make him weak, but not when he takes them from others?
Another track reference coming up hear is the religion conversion one for Jodha. I do not think that he was ready to sacrifice his kingdom for her. He was very shrewd. He threw that dice, because he knows that no one else will become the king and that people will ask him to stay on as a king. He made Rahim his heir and made sure he was still in control. And those days, changing the religion is like a death (no dis respect meant for any religion). Religion was your identity, the whole foundation of your life. Being a very religious and spiritual person himself, Jalal could not have forced someone else on this issue.
And also, that was a very political move for him. By siding with Jodha, he shown himself in a very strong light and made a little way towards his ambition (of winning rajputs, which he repeatedly told MA during Amer track). He had just found out that his soldiers are looting temples angering Rajputs. What better way to show them that he has nothing against their religion and solidifying his stand amongst rajputs than siding with Jodha.
Also, that he was able to be detached from the whole thing and think of the solutions when it came to separation from Jodha and not when this came up with Ruku says a lot of his affection towards Ruku. He was affected a lot duing tasneem's track because he was really attached to Ruku.
I am just trying to understand what is happening because CV's have done such a muck up job. They always failed to connect us to Jodha, but his time it was both Jalal and Jodha.
