Hey People,

I am back.

After catching up on all the episodes today and finally seeing the end of Trial of Tasneem', I am compelled to write about it.

I can pin point six major developments in the story.

1) Healing of Jodha's last of the wounds

2) Cementing of Jodha's presense in Jalal's life

3) Jalal's journey towards becoming a great king

4) Jalal's realization and re-evaluation of his and Ruku's relationship

5) Another enemy coming out in open

6) Maham discovering the shaky ground she is in

Let's see this in detail.

Healing of Jodha's last of the wounds:

Jalal acknowledging that he too has erred in the way their wedding was arranged healed the last of Jodha's wounds. The burden Jodha was carrying about the way she was treated as an object, and less of person, her lack of choice to decide her own life was definitely eating her. Jalal by acknowledging her pain, was able to help her overcome last of her barriers. In a dialog between HB and her, it was clear that she is open to this relationship. She may not be ready for the physical intimacy yet, but she is ready to work towards her relationship with Jalal. This marks the beginning of her journey as a wife, not just as a queen.

Cementing of Jodha's presence in Jalal's life:

By involving herself in state affairs, by pointing out the areas of improvement in kingdom, Jodha is slowly becoming Jalal's confidante. He is finding her suggestions and points valuable. She is becoming his valuable and trustworthy ally. He is more open to discuss his problems and views with her. She has started to stand beside him as an equal, more than capable of taking the reins when required. He now knows that she is there with him always and will always catch him if he falls. This is what was missing in his life; a person to fall back on.

Jalal's journey towards becoming a great king:

Jalal by not making this case only about AK, but seeing the bigger picture is emerging as a true king. He stood by his principles even at the face of a great personal loss is truly commendable.

Jalal's realization and re-evaluation of his and Ruku's relationship:

For the first time, their relationship was under fire, but did they come out of it strongly? Ruku's insecurities were glaring in front of Jalal even after being together so many years. Instead of grieving together about the problem they were facing, Jalal was left to console Ruku. Jalal always had to be the stronger one. Instead of being with Jalal and understanding that as she, he was also feeling the loss of this relationship, moving past that and helping him find the solution, Ruku was only crying all the time leaving Jalal alone to face the problems. Did she really give justice to her Mallika-e-Khas' title? Like Jalal, she is also a queen for more than a decade. Did Jalal realize that she was grieving the loss of title along with Jalal?

It seems CV's have continuously drawn parallels with Ruku and Jodha (even in BB track and Birthday track). Jodha always came strong after each ordeal, unlike Ruku. After BB track Jodha still managed to understand Jalal's pain and console him, in spite her being the victim too. Ruku failed in this regard. Jalal is comfortable showing his tears in front Jodha, unlike Ruku. Jalal is always the stronger and the giver w.r.t. Ruku. But, he finds that he can let go in front of Jodha. That he can be vulnerable and need not be strong always with Jodha. He is comfortable confiding in front of Jodha than Ruku.

His and Jodha's relationship is always tested and they come out stronger and better out of it. However, first time Jalal-Ruku's relationship is tested, are they stronger now? Jalal may be realizing where his relationship stands w.r.t. to Rulu and Jodha.

Another enemy coming out in open

No brainer here. Now Jalal can clearly see some of his enemies, i.e. AK and Shariff.

Maham discovering the shaky ground she is in

Somehow I feel that Jalal is already moving out of Maham's influence. He may still respect her as Badiammi and Minister. However, he will not do blindly as she asks. MA has started to notice this. She realizes that with Jodha and Ruku on his side, she cannot control Jalal. Now that she has nothing to lose (AK is already on out in open), she is the stronger than ever.

I feel that in spite these developments, the script was not up to the mark. I mean, the script and direction was great even for the tracks as stupid as 'Fake Pregnancy'. CV's really had a great story with this, however, the treatment was not up to the mark.

May be these six developments were aimed. But hardly achieved as there was no logic in the entire track and the characters were twisted beyond belief to halo the heroine.
This track left such a bad taste and was totally unpalatable.

Between jo and ruqs, if jo is healed now it is due to jalal's efforts and if ruqs feels a void it is due to his non effort. Jalal who worked to patch up between himself and jodha didn't make similar attempts wrt ruqaiya who has been more loyal to him.

Jalal was ready to forsake throne and kingdom to keep his vachan to jodha on religion.
But he was ready to forsake ruqaiya and his wedding to her to stupidly backdate a new law.

This neither speaks about his consistency nor issue handling capacity nor administration.

This track was the worst ever so far.

Thanks Sandhya, CVs have not done a good job with track, haven't they?
Lets hope they give us a great track now. 😊

A very nice analysis.
To be honest your analysis makes the track look much much better than the way it was executed
My biggest problem was not that Jalaal couldn't do much on his own to prevent the divorce but the way it was handled.
The guy seemed confident and kept re-assuring everyone in the prior episodes.. But we find out later on that it wasn't really the case.
He was seen sharpening his tools when Jodha went and gave the solution.
I just couldn't understand what was going on in his mind. It was not delivered well and in the process Jalaal did come out looking lame.
I expected a lot more depth. Jodha has seen both Shareef and Adham plotting together in Amer.
Why is it that this is not discussed with Jalaal. I expected after the Shareef track but even after the Adham fiasco this did not happen.
Now both of them are in the same cell and am sure again there would be some plotting going on.
Whats now becoming a pattern is for the same of creating some drama , logic is compromised.. Because of that, some of their actions border stupidity... And in this track, it was Jalaal's.

Kshithi, nice to read ur take on last week s fiasco. Am on the way to healing too after that big damage that was done to Jalal s image, so could enjoy ur viewpoint on it. Altogether, would have felt a lot better if Jodha being politically astute was shown in a way without taking away Jalal s cleverness or make him look a complete dumbo , which was what I was left feeling at the end of the track .

Anyways, keep writing. People like u help to keep the positivity up even in such crappy tracks 😊

First of all Kshisthi, its another excellent post by you and very positive. I liked the difference you drew between Ruqu and Jo after the end of each track. As you said Jalal will notice the difference too. Yes, MA is on shaky grounds and it bound to make a big mistake. Her pyaar wali chaal is pretty silly and I feel cannot shake the strong trust JaJo have built. MA will end her life after a final big attack on JaJo which will separate them may be for sometime like the movie..

Sandhya,
I agree with you about the track crapiness, and how Jalal ended up looking like a fool. This was a huge downfall in JA track and hope they dont make same mistakes again.
I do not agree on the fact that Jalal did not enough effort in Ruqu and hence her current state. He infact only paid attention to her inspite of 1000 women in his harem. He always was the stronger one, pampered her and also stood by her insecurities. We rarely see Ruqu stand by Jalal. In the case of Tasneem, he was sacrificing as a king and not bcos Ruqu means any less to him. Ruqu did not support/trust Jalal during pregnancy or the tasneem track. It amazes me that after so many years of marriage also this is her state...Its not Jalal's fault, its her own fault for not being there to support Jalal emotionally..

In that case, where did his kingly duties and responsibility to awaam go when he declared that he would abdicate to keep up his promise to Jodha. What example was he setting there?( Moreover what was he trying to prove by sacrificing Ruqs?) I see a distinct partiality here.
He has paid Ruqs more attention of course. But he was keen to declare it as friendship and not love as he was proud of the fact that he has no dil. (This was evident in Smiley's last episode). It was he who drew the boundaries in her case and perhaps she was afraid to cross it as she was afraid to lose his friendship too.
But with Jodha he has behaved differently. He has bent to break point to win her over and has drawn no boundaries whatsoever. He has tolerated her worst behaviour, crude remarks and stingy speeches with saintly patience. This is the height of pampering.
Jodha stood by Jalal only in BB case, perhaps as she was involved.
In the Tasneem track, you cannot expect Ruqs to stay cool as she was the victim.
Jodha too has been worse, non-supportive and even rude during the blue vomit track but Jalal saw a way through to save her. But when Ruqs was the affected party he chose to lock away his brains and simply shed some tears.

Its a big confusion created by CVs in the tasneem track. But, Jalal was not being partial to Jodha at all. He was not passing the law for sake of Jodha or tasneem, it was for all young girls. It was that care for his praja, not for Jodha. CVs messed it up by him not coming up with a plan to save his marriage. Yes, he declared many times that he has no heart. You call it CVs mistake if you want in portrayal of Ruqu's character. But so far when Jalal needs her hte most, she is not available. She has not trusted him to do the right thing, neither does she understand a kings helplessness. Jo has been mean and he tolerated it only after the suicide attempt, not because he is partial but because he feels guilty and owns responsibility for Jo's condition. Ruqu has been jealous and mad at him many times. We will see more stronger version of those symptoms. Jalal will still stand by her...

Meghana he himself said he would abdicate if that's what it came to, that's how much his promise to Jo meant to him. What about his responsibility towards his praja then ? Is that responsibility worth less than the promise to Jo ? He wanted to stand by her at any cost, would never talaaq her. To hell with praja and their plight , he was willing to leave them at the mercy of the next ruler, whoever that might be.

But when it came to ruqs, responsibility towards praja took primary importance even if it meant breaking marriage vows . Why did he not abdicate for ruqs ? How come the praja meant more this time ? To hell with marriage vows right? And this is a best friend in question, a marriage that is 10 years old , not a new wife who has barely been cordial, not a wife he just gave up hard won durg for where many of his own men must have sacrificed their life for .

I'm not against jalal for thinking of his praja , it's a noble cause , but you can see the difference in how he reacted in the two situations.

As for ruqs, she did say she will trust any decision of his in their conversation that night . She lashed out at everyone else but never directly asked him to change his mind. At least as far as I can remember.

Even HB was not around during the mc track , does she not love her son ? That's just the cvs and their confusion over who ruks is.
