Today on the first episode Shveta Salve was the anchor. Finalists are not selected. They are going through prelim rounds. Robin Singh, Saurav Ganguly, Sanjay Manjrekar will train them. Jadeja is the host. Dungarpur advised everyone to grab this oppurtunity.

this is a snippet of the first episode

Episode 1:

Cricket Star lights up the telly!

Cricket Star struck the right note as the first episode of the cricket talent hunt reality show aired. Ajay Jadeja introduced viewers to a number of aspirants, from all walks of life, who were there to become Indias best cricket talent.

The contestants were varied: some young men showed an equal interest in modelling as they did in cricket, while others had compelling stories that moved the audience. One such contestant was Sumit Sadafule whose buoyant personality despite his obvious handicaps touched hearts. Others like Dinesh Salunke kept their dream alive even when the going was tough and early success failed to reap bigger results.

But not everybody met expectations. Robin Singh admonished Ashish Kumar, who looked more like a model than a cricketer, for his lack of proper cricketing attire. Some may have felt it was harsh, but then a persons aspirations are sometimes clear in their body language and attire.

The show ended on a touching moment. Padmesh Vedpathak had come for the audition to fulfil his fathers dreams. But his father had passed away a day earlier. Yet Padmesh was in control of his emotions, showing his maturity. He would have made Kapil Dev proud. The ace cricketer had told the boys that they had to aspire to be a cricketer with their heart and soul, but, more importantly, to be a better human being. This show gave a new perspective to the phrase sons of the soil.
