Is Ekta afraid of Paresh Rawal?

Kapoor has planned a two-day special of Kyunki, Kahaani and Kayamath to upset the actor's co-production Teen Bahuraniyan, airing on Zee tonight

Staring today, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kayamath will be blended into one mega soap, called Teen Kahaaniyaan, Teen Raaz, Do Anokhe Episodes, as a special two-part series on Star Plus.

Part one will be aired on Monday from 10 pm to 11.30 pm, while part two will air on Tuesday.

This comes in the light of Star's biggest rival Zee launching a brand new show called Teen Bahuraniyaan, co-produced by veteran actor Paresh Rawal.

Balaji czarina Ekta Kapoor apparently wants to ensure that the new show gets little to no attention on its opening day tomorrow, and hence has launched a massive publicity stunt for her Star dramas.

Common thread

Says a source from Balaji, "It's the biggest special show on television and will been seen over two days.

That's 100 minutes of programming, 80 artists, 50 junior artists, four sets, three directors, and five creative directors who will be working on the project."

Apparently, it's also the costliest set ever made. Balaji is rumoured to have spent Rs 1 crore for four sets (constructed at Sankraman Studios) for this two-episode special.

Adds the source, "The artistes have been shooting non-stop for the last five days. It's a combined episode of Balaji's prime time Star Plus dramas, which will be interlinked."

'Star' wars

Meanwhile, Zee's Teen Bahuraniyaan will debut tonight in the 10.30 pm slot. The new show, co-produced by Paresh Rawal and Hemal Thakkar, will have a fresh cast of actors.

Rajesh Joshi (one of the original writers of Kyunki) has been roped in to script Teen Bahuriyaan, while Sapna Joshi (who has directed many soaps) is directing the serial.

Says Paresh Rawal, "I wanted to make a family drama revolving around the saas- bahu, but with a difference."

Is he afraid that Balaji is coming up with a spectacular special event on the same day? "Not at all. I am not competing with anybody. Besides, I'm sure Ekta isn't scared of anybody, least of all me. I have great respect for her.

The kind of tenacity and talent she has is remarkable. I am looking forward to learning from her. In fact, I want to approach her for building a drama theatre in the future."

Suspense and theatrics!

Janki devi aka Parvati will throw a special party in tonight's episode of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. This episode will run into Kyunki and Kayamath's time slot as one mega show.

Says a Balaji source, "The party will have an Arabian Nights theme with heavy, ornate draperies in green and gold silk."

Sixty scenes and 10 songs have been shot for the special. Adds the source, "Tulsi and Parvati will dance to Hoton Pe Aisi Baat from Jewel Thief.

Three big secrets from the past will be revealed in this special episode: In Kahaani, it will finally be revealed who the skeleton in the trunk belongs to, while in Kyunki Krishna Tulsi's rapist will finally be revealed.

Meanwhile, Kayamath will reveal the secret to Monish Behl's dark side, which he has been hiding for 20 years."

Ekta is definately scared of the Non-Ekta serials running on Zee. She sees them as competition and admitted herself. I guess its good, healthy competition is always good to see. 😉

I wonder if Teen Bahuraniya is more on the comic side. Thats what the promos suggest.

I didn't know that Paresh Rawal was venturing into serial production... could be interesting to see what his team comes up with.

I think that the competition will bring the best out of both camps.

Plus same day zee are pulling a stunt as well they doing a merger of saath phere and betiyaan salonis gonna be on that show ..so who can you say is doing it for publicity 😉 they all doing it !

Fear is the reason behind competition Nina. Well I think it is anyway. You need to have fear within you to motivate you to compete. Am I blagging? I think so. 😛

Aww why would she feel afraid? 😕 Don't know about other countries but here Teen Bahuraniyan is going to replace Sindoor Tere Naam Ka, so that it's not a reason, for me!

😆reema you are in a werid mood today...no you not blagging its a student skill that is called chit chat 😛rather than blag sounds better😉

As for fear and competition i am Very competitive and let me tell you i am not scared of other people i do what i have to and let others do what they want...😉Not that i know as far as i gather Ektas motivation is to do well and better to make money, if that means taking out rivals so be it..if you thinking fear zee is scared 😛they competing for ratings.May the best person win.Kyunki has been on for years , kayamth is being loved so she has no reason to be scared that would be later once shows started and if it does well.

She must be scared as well but teen bahuraniya i dont think is same as other serials good or bad i dont know.😆Now whos blagging.
