Politics, Hate, Love and Faith

One of the characters that I find really intriguing is Kalavati/Rudra Pratap. This is as complicated a villain can get. The actor is such a brilliant actor the way he is able to show Rudra's stern attitude and then Kalavati's but yet his voice is projected in a way that at times it seems quite feminine and also the next second its deep. He is able to perfectly switch from Rudra to Kalavati and vice versa in the span of a few seconds. And you know what, that just makes me equally confused on how I'm meant to be feeling towards this character. At times I hate Rudra for being a total villain and then I pity Kalavati for being born a eunuch and getting hate from her dad. At times I laugh at the way she behaves and at times I'm scared of what he/she is planning.

It's strange, the first time a eunuch has been given such an importance in the show (probably, I don't know the history of television lol), and yet this is the most intense, best characterised villain I've ever seen. And I'm the sort of person that loves the villain because there's always a backstory behind them yet I felt in Indian TV this was lacking but I've been proved wrong. Even Nimmi, who I find annoying and 'thinks-she's-too-cool' has shown some character development and that it's not her that's at fault. She's actually just like MJ. Brought into the house of Thakur's and related by relations but not blood. She dislikes MJ because he's not her son and yet he defended her. I totally want to see Nimmi having a guilty conscience and confused over what to think - should she stop herself getting brainwashed by RP or for once truly see what MJ is really like?

Politics plays a big part in EBI because since the show started we've shown how much Kalavati wants to win votes to control Bhopal under the persona of RP - even though she doesn't like that side of her. In politics, everyone tries to gain something - and here everyone has their own secrets and agendas. RP is shown to fake sympathy to gain votes even though he dislikes the drama, but what exactly does he/she want? What exactly would Kalavati get by taking charge of the city? Is she playing politics against her family or playing politics against the society? Is her true agenda to get people to accept her real face? That's she's not Rudra but Kalavati?

And as I said before, faith also plays a big part but it's subtle. You don't notice it but it's there. Jairaj has faith in Tara to bring MJ to the right path whilst Tara was shown various times practising her faith when she was scared. But then there's the faith that brings people together, and lets them know that you know what? Everything will be alright. The pearl is a great example because it was the faith Tara and MJ had for each other even if it was subconsciously, Tara having faith in her 'dost' to save her and MJ having faith in Tara for bringing roshni into his life -- the pearl which has gone to and fro and was left unburnt in the stable fire. Pearls are symbolised as pure and honest. The faith both Tara and MJ have in each other is the real why the pearl didn't burn or get lost.

It's this faith that will help them in the future.

And I'm sure it's this faith that will bind love between MJ and Tara and she'll support him against the hate and the effects of politics.

Thank you Sehreen! That is your name right? 😳

Eeek, I love the actor! He's so amazing! There are only so much villains that are great actors and have a great characterisation such as one is Vishwajeet as RP/Kalavati and the other is Alka who plays Razia in QH.

And thank you! Haha, can't believe I only just started watching this show around three days ago 😆

I like to read your post Zahara.
Faith is a big thing in anyone's life but it should be true faith not a blind faith. And you are right Jayraj's faith in Tara will bring Tara and MJ together, Jayraj knows that MJ was committing suicide by agreeing that he has committed the crime, do not know was it due to his promise to Nirmala or he was trapped by RP/Kalawati, and for that reason Jayraj brought Tara in MJ's life so that MJ will not make mistake.

Vishvajeet Pradhan is a good actor and like I feel sorry for Kalawati and also I get upset by both RP and Kalawati's actions to kill MJ and Tara, it's a mix feeling.

Thank you! Let's hope I'll not end up being lazy and make more posts LOL

And yeah, MJ was committing suicide by saying he did the crime! It's only due to Jayraj's trust in Tara that MJ is going to find ways to survive! =D
