I was really hoping for that too. But it seems unlikely. What's giving me solace is that Shahrukh described it as very heartfelt, probably with no songs, and challenging. He talked about meeting Maneesh in a few days and understanding the challenges. (sort of gave me a MNIK/Rizwan kinda character feel)

And people think being a Kareena fan is difficult? Being a SRK fan is possibly the hardest thing out there.

Well about his less movies, yeah he's definitely reduced the no of movies. but he has his own reasons. Surgeries, injuries, and now he has a whole business to look after(his hard work Red chillies is emerging successfully) and about his scripts, first he doesn't refuses some persons at all(more because of his loyalty or friendship to them) like YRF, and then HNY or CE movies are for record. He's not a guy who will take defeat easily, he will try hard, and he knows that any of nice movie can't do this, so he does this kinda movies.
And about certain kinda roles, or lead roles for just 4 or 5 years... he'll be the lead till when he workd. These norms hadn't worked for srk really, he has created his own methods, and ways.

SRK won't be taking challenging roles anytime soon...atleast after HNY becomes blockbuster then may be...after two blockbuster CE and HNY he might dare to take some challenging project..he is very much concerned about his box office atm

But very honestly, I don't think Happy New Year will be that bad. Of course, it won't be some critically acclaimed intellectual movie. But I do think that it will be good entertainer. (unlike today's masala films) Hopefully, something like Main Hoon Na.

lol but I think all of us are starving to get some good Shahrukh Khan character roles. Let's hope he gives us one soon.
