Pakistan Idol Discussion Thread

First of all how come it's so hard to find good quality videos on the internet for Geo shows?

Anyways, Mohib seems like a decent host, he has a nice enough voice and I like him although I would have preferred to have Ahmed Butt because he is great entertainment. Mohib's hair is looking somewhat better now, I wasn't bothered by it much.

Ali Azmat, Hadiqa and Bushra Ansari are fine choices but I would have preferred Sajad Ali or Ahmed Jehanzeb over Bushra Ansari. Hadiqa looked really nice, is fair and Ali Azmat seems like a really good judge.

What has Bushra Ansari done to her face? She has definitely had eyebrow lifts and botox. Her makeup was done so horribly. Her eyebrows omg, she looks sooo scary. She is unable to give expressions at all. Apart from that she was also trying really hard to pull a Simon Cowell so I hope she tones it down a bit.

Auditions to watch out for
Day 1 Lahore-
-The transgender guy Rafay or was he a cross-dresser, I cannot say. Anyways, his singing was atrocious. Was he for real or an actor placed there I cannot say since either is possible. Won't put it past Geo to stage some auditions but can't forget the weirdos we have seen in other versions of idol either.

-M.Yasir Khan, the Pathan was the first one who stood out for me. At first listen, he seems to have a playback voice, needs to be trained though.

-Shahzad Ali, the Salman Khan wannabe was a complete joke 🤣

-Imran Nisar, the guy who was constantly shaking like a chihuahua and bragged about himself was cringeworthy, trying to sing Pehli Nazar with some English accent.

Day 2 Lahore -
-Robin Gulzar, the guy with the nice smile attempted a difficult Sonu Nigam song and did a really good job.

-Arslan Saleem, this dude was completely lost about everything. He wasn't singing just saying the words lol and Mohib just comes inside and stands there beside the guy.

-M.Kamran, a visually impaired man had a beautiful voice but wasn't picked because the judges felt he would not be versatile enough which I felt was unfair.

-Zamad Baig with the guitar seemed like a sweet guy and sang really well, judges loved him, I felt he could have thrown his voice more.

-Qandeel Baloch, the supposed actress/model. Lol she looked like a complete clown in her 6 inch open-toed pumps, neon pink and green clothes, over the top horrid make-up, and attempts at speaking in English. I don't even know what to say about her attempt at singing. On top of it her fake crying at the end.

-Roshan, with his made up song was surprisingly good.

-Mehvish was the only girl who could truly sing, had a great sufi voice, was in tune and had a loud clear voice.



I dunno if most people just sucked or the editing was just bad that we barely got to see any good auditions. Hoping to hear something better because really no one was amazing. When I used to watch American Idol, Indian Idol, America's Got Talent, The X-Factor, the auditions themselves had such stand-out performances that they stayed with you. Everyone on this show was so forgettable.

It was actually a nycc effort i wud say at least better than what i expected. Editing sucked at tyms but it was overall entertaining show. Other than that judges seems f9 ,mohib is doing a real good job.
add ya i alsoo wondered that may be they are paid actors , but that rafay guy is real ,he use to study at Lsc ,my brother recognized him from thr , soo yaa may be they are real people , shittt 😆 😆

Day 1

Rafay was such a wannabe..😆 but his eye makeup was pretty amazing

Yasir was my fav.. and he looks cute too 😳

That poor guy who worked in some stall or something was good but why was he going so fast? 😕

Shahzad Ali? what? Hum sallu bhai ke ilawa 3 bhai behen hain OMG what was he doing.. 🤣 Bushra and Ali's comments made me go even more 😆

What was that guy filmon se offer aayi, dramon se aayi.. singer hi banoonga?? 😆 Pehli Nazar's most different version ever.. LOLOLOL..

The Rajasthani gharana guy's age said he was 16? 😲 itna zaalim jhoot to mat bolo yaar..

Overall I'll say a good start to this season..

Day 2

Faiza was pretty good.. I liked her.. but then I don't have much music knowledge 😕 I'm glad she was selected..

Robin.. aweee his smile is so nice.. and that was one difficult song he sung.. Sonu Nigam has done an incredilble job on it and Robin was really good too.. and he hugged Hadiqa too.. I don't know why I had it that they won't be hugging guys like in the Indian version.. But it was a nice change..😆 I'm yet too see a girl hugging Ali Azmat tho.. LOL 😆

Arsalan..why was he so lost ? LOL.. he was funny.. he was reading off the book of lyrics seemed like.. 😆 what a fail..Mohib just came and stood beside him..😆

Kamran.. He had a very sweet and melodious voice for a guy.. I liked it and the song he sang was so good I had to google it.. what variety were they talking about? they could've prepared him.. they should've taken it..

Ali Azmat's like this is Pakistan Idol not like I'm a bathroom singer.. LOLOLOL 😆

Zaman/d Baig: He could've been more loud.. I think his voice was staying back.. I love the song he sang.. he was playing the guitar really well too.. I like him..

OMGZZZ those heels.. Qandeel jee ki kya baat.. 🤣 Hideous makeup.. Bushra's like Munh bhi pink.. LOLOL.. why was she even trying to speak English? 😲🤢 such bad voice.. God.. 😡 Bushra escorted her 😆 WTH was she doing at the end? OMG hilarious audition.. Mohib's like main aapke dukh mein barabar ka sahreek hoon aap baat to sun lein 🤣

Roshaan: Nice song he made and sang it pretty well too..glad he was selected..

They were playing such awesome songs in the bg.. 😳

The guy who made medley.. OMG what he doing.. LOLOL..

Mehwish.. classical/sufi is her forte I think.. she was good.. pretty good.. reminded me of Sanam Marvi..

I liked the 2nd episode better than the first one.. I think it's not a bad show.. prety good.. I'll continue watching.. Hadiqa's more of on the job type of a judge.. she's fair and she's like okay we're here for this so let's get i done.. I like Ali the most.. he's unintentionally funny.. 😆 Bushra's good too.. I like her witty comments here and there but she needs to tone down on her makeup please..

Mohib is a fine host.. I like the voice over he does in the bg much better than his voice face to face..

Finally somebody made a post about it & I am so glad its you my friend! So far Yasir and Mehvish have managed to grab my attention! Sajjad Ali would have been a wonderful addition to the judges panel but still this would do! Can't wait to see future performances!

Hadiqa, I've finally grown to like her cause of this. She's a very fair judge. Ali's good too. But, Bushra. No. She wasn't the right choice at all, in my opinion. I didn't even know she sang. And the faces she makes. 🤢 She's a fine actress but judge? The contestants..my views are the same as yours and Pulwa's. :D The one thing that really annoyed me was how after selections some contestents did the "matha tek" on the ground. That's so common in indian reality shows after selections but, it bugged me seeing it on a Pakistani Idol.

Bushra reminds me of Alisha Chinai. They both try to act like teenagers :S

Yeah I agree, it is a definite improvement over all their other reality shows. It was the editing that was frustrating for me since we didn't get to see as many full auditions as we normally get to see in other versions of the Idol show. Mohib has been pleasant so far, no over the top antics, just enough.

I have no issues with transgendered people, and of course they are common in Pakistan. It was his singing which was more unbelievable for me hence why I wondered if he was planted but like I also said, such auditions are very common in the other versions of this format so hopefully nothing is rigged at least.

Hey you! Howdy? I didn't know you stalked this forum, so good to see you and I wasn't expecting you to be watching a Pakistani reality show even though I know you watch dramas.

The judges like Yasir as a whole package, looks and voice. He has the type of voice that if groomed will sound great as playback in films and dramas. In my opinion, Mehvish has a definite talent.
