You are welcome...wanted to thank you for the share. Just checked the link and took the test. I scored 'growth' mindset.😃 And was directed to a book...😆Yes Shrija, this is not that SC either. No prob. Will gladly await 'loads of writing' that spurs...😊
GT wanted to change the 19th century Gujarati society . He created a hero who was very well educated and modern and did not believe in rigid customs . He was generous, sensitive and at the same time haughty and aloof . He was wealthy but did not care about the money . Saraswatichandra was the first modern hero . All the girls desired to have a husband like him. GT needed a girl to suit this modern hero. A girl who was educated and accomplished . She should understand him and stand by him in all the difficult situations.
Saraswatichandra and Kumud Sundari were the popular role models of Gujarati society . The girls and boys would identify with Kumud or Saras . Every literate Gujarati family had this book in their possession.
Im happy that the book which was lying in old wooden cupboards has now come out of shelves. And more people now know about Goverdhanram Tripathi and Saraswatichandra .
It is always a pleasure to read everybody's commnets here in this forum.
