Yes I am talking about what the makers and writers of Do Dil Ek Jaan have done to us.
I never hid the fact that I am a writer. But for the first time I am understanding that a writer can actually cheat and rob it's reader/viewer with no accountability whatsoever. And for that I feel very angry and upset, personally and professionally. I hope the writers and the producers of DDEJ know that once a professional suicide is committed the stigma and the stain attached will be very hard to brush or hide away. When they least expect it, it will come back to shine a light on them again...it will never go away. Every action leaves a mark, rule of the Universe. Think of it like karma, if you want.
By promising one thing in the beginning of the story but actually showing something else throughout and ending it in a way that was never hinted in the beginning means that we have been cheated, robbed and yes even lied to. Now they are leaving us high and dry by killing off the leads.
I would like to ask the Creative's: WHY? If you have written yourself in the corner, there is always a way out. You wanted us viewers to suspend our belief and accept coincidences, we did. You wanted us to suspend our belief and knowledge of what we had seen so far and accept that a soulmate could spurn her lover in a heartbeat, we did. You also wanted us to accept that said soulmate then jumped into marriage with a hated enemy whilst her lover watched, we did. So why could you not write a way out from an abysmal track that should never have arisen in the first place? why not show the heroine running off or leaving her fake husband the day after? we would have accepted it instantly. Why not show the hero kidnapping her to a remote jungle/mountain hut until sense comes to her or he makes her believe his word? we would have believed.
So many possibilities and so many ways to go. That is the true beauty of writing. By your very own action, the writer(s) of this show have proven that they have limited creativity, keen and willing to regurgitate the same bile over and over again, most often lifting the same dialogue and scenes from other stories they are involved in. That is stagnation, not creativity!
With regards to the low trps, the onus is on the writers and the production house. If you are not willing to promote and advertise your show properly, give it the dues it needs then yes off course the trp will be low. The writers of the show played their part in it as well. You should have stayed true to your original premises and visions of the story.
It is still not late. Convert your newest track to a turning point. Show the climax of the fake marriage and you should be able to twist this around. We will accept it because of our love for this story and the leads.
Do not cheat us loyal viewers, do not lie and rob us. More importantly, don't leave us high and dry when some have invested in this show emotionally. If you must continue in this track then end it decently. Give us the ending you have promised us from day one. Then you will be well deserving of the title of being a writer who delivers on their promise and a production house noted for at least ending things gracefully.
Viewers have long memories. You know the saying, once bitten, twice shy.
