TOI-I'm very lucky to have Ravi in my life: Sargun Mehta

Vivacious, spontaneous and confident Sargun Mehta's on a roll. For someone who made her small screen debut in a character role (12/24 Karol Bagh) she went on to become the lead in (Phulwa) and in Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada, did a stint on Nach Baliye 5. Currently she's playing Ganga in Balika Vadhu and hosting the new season of Boogie Woogie. As the leggy lass ties the nuptial knot with actor boyfriend RaviDubey in the first week of December. AT gets chatty with her:

You've always been busy doing shows since your telly debut. I realised that it's a major struggle to survive in showbiz, there is too much competition. So, you need to make your presence felt and you should be prepared for a hectic schedule of doing 14-15 hour shifts. But now I'm used to the long working hours after spending five years in the profession.

What made you step into Sriti Jha's shoes as the new Ganga in Balika Vadhu? I don't like to replace a character, because it's a tough call to do a role that someone's done before. But, I've been following Balika Vadhu for a very long time and I liked Ganga's character. It's a challenge to play such a traditional character and I think Sriti did a great job of being Ganga.

You're also anchoring Boogie Woogie... I wanted to host a reality show for a very long time. In fact, I feel non-fiction shows are great fun " be it as an anchor or a participant " I enjoyed my stints in Comedy Circus and Nach Baliye 5. And Boogie Woogie is a cult show, I'm so happy to be a part of it as it's making a comeback after a long gap.

If these two new ventures aren't enough, you're getting married in the midst of all the action! It's maddening! My life's too action-packed. I've to shift home, I need to invite so many people; and along with these two shows I don't know if I'll be able to make it to my own wedding on time " I'm reaching Chandigarh on December 5 in the morning and the marriage rituals begin in the evening! About marriage, the feeling hasn't sunk in yet!

How's Ravi as a significant other? Ravi keeps me calm. He is my support. The song Tu Hai Toh I'll Be Alright (Dostana) is apt for him! We met on the sets of 12/24 Karol Bagh and became great friends, he helped me find my feet in Mumbai. And I've been depending on him always for the smallest of things. I think I'm lucky to have him as my partner
