Hi All,

I don't always watch the episodes but keep up with the show via the written updates. I tuned in to watch today's episode because of Suraj and Sandhya's re-wedding, however I also had to sit through Meena's portion.

I'm sure a lot of members here might not agree with my views - but I do have a few thoughts to share about this character. I would like to clarify this is nothing against Kanika the actress but these thoughts are solely for the characterization of Meena and Meena with in the context of DABH and what they show.

I'm really amazed at how cheap, selfish, greedy and over all not good, Meena is shown to be. While I get she comes from a lesser affluent family than the Rathis or Kotharis - they really show her to be very shallow and mean - are people from lesser monied backgrounds always so narrow minded and greedy?

There are countless crimes Meena has committed in the 600+ episodes till date - right from burning empty boxes - committing arson - just to AVOID contributing to the household expenses, to getting her sister to file a police complaint to get Bhabo put in jail, to stealing money from Suraj's bank account and of course let us not forget the biggest offense of all - baby swapping.

CVs have pretty much shown every criminal activity possible committed by Meena:

-Arson (burning empty boxes in the store room)

-Stealing (stealing of Sandhya's gold necklace during the 15 day test after Sandy came 3rd, stealing Chavi's bridal jewels which turned out to be fake anyways)

-Fraud - by taking money out of Suraj's acct via ATM

-Conspiracy to Kill (when she threw Chaturi from the top of the Mandir stairs before Rajkumar kidnapped her)

Kidnapping - she stole someone else's baby and swapped with her own

-Lying - pretty much any time she opens her mouth

Today's episode just really bothered me - not only does she commit all these serious crimes - she gets away with it, even if they do surface - they are quickly forgotten and/or easily over looked. In what world does it make sense for her to even think she can lay claim to Emily's store space. They already have a store of their own - if they want to expand it - do it on your own. Why does she expect Suraj to foot all the bills? Suraj already pays for the household expenses with his earnings - he helps his siblings get on their feet but why is it expected?!

The 3rd shop was bought with the intent to establish a source of income for Emily and Mohit (thats another character that I have issues with - but thats another soap box). Emily has a skill, talent and experience which they are trying to put to use to get an income. Meena had every intent of swindling that store space for herself - let Suraj pay the loan and just cruise through life with out spending a single penny. Why do the family members let her get away with everything?! Why is a blind eye turned to anything and everything Meena does but anything Sandhya says is blown way out of proportion - why?

I really hope CVs turn this around sooner than later - this is a great show with really good social messages and they have great potential here but please CVs if you can see this - deal with Meena - either tone it down so I don't have to cringe when she gets screen space or show her getting caught and paying for it. When she got caught for putting Bhabo in jail or stealing money from Suraj's account - i don't recall seeing any remorse for committing those crimes - she was only upset that she got caught.

I do realize this is a show and creative liberty and flaws in logic are accepted but this is beyond that - for a show that gives great social awareness and raises real issues to educate the masses - what message are they giving off by showing Meena in this light? Its like saying - this is how you should live life and be aware (through the social messages that Sandhya's tracks focus on) and then turn around and say but its ok if u do bad things - you can get away with it without paying for it. How is that fair?

Sorry for such a long post - just had to air my thoughts.

Everyone is fed up with Meena. Yesterday's was real crap behaviour. But screen space is more allotted to Meena-Emily squabble. I am not at all enjoying it. But one thing let me tell you. If I am right the ultimate aim of the CVs is breaking up of Bhabo's so called parivaar.
