After Onir had the whole trafficking racket, he got his doctor license taken away. Later on, he came up with this whole act along with his friends Kinshuk and Shalini to get Arjun-Purvi together. Arjun-Purvi got married and later Onir and Shalini got married.
Soham falls in love with Gauri who is a doctor who took care of Archana while she was in a coma. Gauri's marriage eventually gets finalized to Sachin, which leaves Soham in an angry rage. He becomes almost depressed and doesn't talk to anyone, but all he wants is Gauri. The Deshmukh family later cut ties with him after he gives Sachin a head injury. Then one day at a party, Manav gets shot in the head and develops a condition which causes him to overreact when he sees something go wrong, because of this, he doesn't go to work for a long time and DK signs a deal with Shirish Karmakar, which makes Manav mad because DK didn't talk to him before signing the deal, and also because Shirish has a bad reputation on the market. DK signs the deal and Manav and DK end their partnership. This also causes problems in Arjun-Purvi's marriage because Purvi sides with her father (Manav) and Arjun sides with his father (DK). Arjun goes to Canada for business reasons, where he meets Ovi and discovers she has a daughter named Pia, who is also his daughter. Purvi comes to Canada to resolve her marriage problems and there she discovers that Arjun and Ovi have a daughter named Pia, so Arjun-Purvi separate and the whole Deshmukh family (Archana, Manav, Purvi, Pari, Savita, Sulochana, Damodar, Sachin, Teju) all move to Canada, and then the 20 year leap takes place.
In this 20 years, Soham, who has now changed his name to Raghav Mahatre, has 5 kids, Ankita, Prashant, Mansi, Pranav and Sonu. He had Ankita, Prashant and Mansi with his first wife and when she died, he married her sister with who he had Pranav and Sonu but she later left him. The twist here is that Ankita looks exactly like Archana. Ankita is hard working and she looks after her whole family while her dad (Soham/Raghav) drinks a lot and takes their money. She works in Arjun's company where his partner is the Karmakars who have two sons, Naren and Raunak. Naren is a genius, but he has a problem. A few months before, he went to London and fell in love with a girl named Ahana who later died, and now whenever he sees a bright light flash, he gets panicked. Doctors say that the only cause to his disease is finding him a girl in his life who is like Ahana. Rushali (his mother) and Shirish (Rushali's husband) look everywhere for a girl who he likes, but with no luck. Naren then falls in love with Ankita, who he calls Ahana and the Karmakars think that she is the medicine to his illness. Rushali says that if she marries Naren, she will take care of her house expenses and her siblings' schooling. Ankita however, is in love with Shashank, who loves her as well. The two were going to get married, but didn't because Shashank's parents didn't approve of Ankita. Ankita then agrees to marry Naren, and that's where the story is now.
The Deshmukh family comes to India to reunite Arjun and Purvi because Purvi finds out when she comes to India on a business deal that Arjun has been alone for all the years they've been apart and she realizes that she was wrong to leave him.
We don't know what happened to Ovi and Onir yet. Ovi will probably reenter after some time along with her daughter, but Onir is probably not going to come back as the actor who plays him (Shakti Arora) quit.
Gauri is dead because the night before she was going to get married to Sachin, Soham kidnapped her and took her to a mandir to get married on the spot, where the whole Deskmukh family try and stop him, and he later accidentally shoots her while trying to shoot Sachin, and as far as we know she died.
