Actress Deepika Singh, who plays the strong willed Sandhya in the show Diya Aur Bati Hum, is only happy to be playing the role. According to the pretty actress, by playing Sandhya, Deepika is only letting her father's dream get fulfilled on the small screen. Sandhya, known for her convincing on screen performance was also academically bright.

"My father always wanted me to get into the Civil Services and I have appeared for manycompetitive exams. In, fact I cleared many bank entrance exams, but those exams were a means to boost my confidence," Deepika.

"At the same time, I was always passionate about acting, so I never gave up on that dream. Thankfully destiny got me into acting first. Now by clearing the exams in the show, my character has indirectly helped me fulfill my father's dreams to see his daughter as a Civil Servant even it is a show," grins Deepika.
