Dhoom 3's brilliant song strategy- No full songs till release

If you are expecting to see the songs of Dhoom 3, you'll have to wait for the film. Premier Production House Yash Raj Films and Aamir Khan have decided on not revealing the full song video of any of the songs from their upcoming film Dhoom 3. It is the first time in the history of Bollywood that something of this kind is being undertaken. Usually songs make for the films' biggest stay and is used as a marketing prop for most ventures. however, marketing giants Aditya Chopra and Aamir Khan are trying something unusual for the film which is to redefine the contours of Bollywood films. The film by this stunt will end up saving nearly 50% of their television budget which is withheld by ventures to promote their music.

Dhoom 3 will not show any of its songs either on television or internet or on any other promotional platform. Only one promotional video track is out with Katrina Kaif dancing to the film's title song Dhoom Machale. The makers have decided to rather reveal song teasers of 30 seconds for the audiences to get a glimpse and feel of the songs . Audiences will be able to see the full song only in the film. Whether this brilliant marketing stunt fails or thrives is yet to be seen, but the new vein of thought is always welcome.

No promotions on TV, no album release. What's up with Aditya and YRF's marketing strategy?

Yeh kaunsi nayi strategy hai, this is how the films used to be promoted traditionally for a major portion of last decade and earlier before full video songs promos took over.

It used to start with a teaser 2 or 3 months prior and then for every two weeks 30 sec video preview of songs used to be released and finally a week or two before final theatrical used to be released. So they are bringing in the old way of promotions again 😆

It will be an All-time-Blockbuster anyway. So yeah, works for them.

Dhoom is a huge franchise already than why waste money on pramotion overdrive already the budget of movie is huge. And if the music is amazing like amir said it will pull audience the theater as the freshness will be still there. If they release music now it might get boring by next month. Lot of people just went to see tmk in theater to watch sheila ki jawani. Same can happen to dhoom 3 as it will have lot of acrobats and it will be visially very appeling.

Its a great strategy if the songs are not good. Like CE songs sounded great from the 30sec promos and then sounded bad when the full songs were released. Anyways its not a new strategy...its the usual YRF strategy. 😆
