Maverick actor-cum-producer Anuj Saxena can't figure out why his serial Kulvaddhu is being axed. What he also can't fathom is the fact that his show has been singled out for harsh treatment when other shows too are not showing better TRPs than Kulvaddhu. "I don't think TRP is the issue. There has to be some other reason. In any case Kulvaddhu is only three months old and has been getting a TRP of around 0.8 to 0.9 and the numbers have been picking up in the last couple of weeks. On the other hand, some of their shows that have been on air for almost a year are not doing any better than my show. Even Jeete Hain Jiske Liye and Durgesh Nandini are struggling with 0.5 and 0.4 TVRs respectively. When Sony's share has slipped quite a bit how was my show expected to get good TRP numbers in three months?" asks Anuj. "The channel's position is weak at prime time. If a serial has to show decent numbers it needs to be given enough time." Anuj says he stands to lose a lot of money. "I have spent a lot on the set and production. The show also had the best of star cast. It would have taken me more than six months to recover the cost. But never mind, it's my loss and I will try to recover it from other productions of mine. Work continues at Maverick. One show going off air doesn't bring the shutters down on my company," says Anuj who is the presenter and financier of Vivek Waswani's Shah Rukh Khan-Sushmita Sen starrer Dulha Mill Gaya which will go on the sets next week. "The film was supposed to go on the sets two weeks ago but got delayed for some reason. Now we are allready to shoot the first schedule." (Sampurn) Baa Bahoo cast shoot in Singapore For a change, recently some of the key actors and technicians of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby moved out of their studio sets for a six-day tour of Singapore. Well, they didn't go to Singapore for a holiday but to shoot four episodes of the weekend show in various exotic locations of the island nation, thanks to little girl Chaitali who wins a competition and bags a six-day holiday to Singapore for her family. "We have shot on some of the most eye-catching locations in Singapore like the Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Centre's Island and Merlion Park besides the malls and riverside restaurants. The family not only enjoys a good holiday but the story also moves ahead with some interesting twists and turns. We have weaved in some dramatic moments to take the story forward," says actor-producer J. D. Majethia. So watch out for Gattu, Baa, Baby and others have fun away from the regular Mumbai studios. |
