TOI: TV stars return after break-Anky/Hiten

Daily soaps tend to give withdrawal symptoms to many in telly-brigade, including the lead stars. The latest trend, protagonists of prime time shows are taking a temporary break (that could stretch to even three months and sometimes six) and making a comeback in a newer avatar. Not that we blame them for their acts of disappearance! After doing back-to-back shifts and monotonous tracks, TV stars tend to crave for a 'break' from the predictable routine. And just when the audience has lost hope of seeing their favourite TV stars back, the scriptwriters tweak the storyline(s) and after some behind the scene negotiations (which include fatter pay chequesand more screen time) the stars return from their hiatus, making 'dramatic' entries in the show.

Hiten Tejwani: The affable Hiten's now enjoying a break from the show as he's busy with his cameo in Sanskaar... Dharohar Apno Ki and shooting for his upcoming film Tere Aane Se. Hiten, who is said to be Ekta Kapoor's replacement specialist will return after a few weeks .

Ankita Lokhande: After carrying the show on her shoulders for four years (and 1000+ episodes),Ankita went on a 3-month break early this year, and her character went in 'coma'. After losing out on a B'WD film debut, Ankita returned, ensuring that she got to play a younger role after another 'leap'.
