How come Zoya's scar is not cured after so many years?

I am confused wid a question on how come Zoya's scar is not cured after so many years? Eventhough she lived in US how its not cured? In many saas-bahu shows like Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan n Chhoti Bahu, d female protagonists suffered 3rd degree burns all over their body but still they recovered in a month then how come Zoya has not recovered in more than 20 years? Y Zoya has not done any treatment to get rid of her scar completely?

I know dat but is there any reason given on how come Zoya still has scars n y she is not treating it completely?

Usually a burn scar if it is 3rd degree maximum it will resolve in an year with treatment. While shooting the scar scene they said that this scars resembles zoya about her mother she kept it as such with out treatment as her mother's memory. It happened 17yrs back. Not 20yrs back.
If burns are not treated it can leave the scars
