why do bollywood films show muslim girl falling in love with hindu boy

Why do bollywood films mainly (not always) show the muslim girl and hindu guy falling in love!?!? It very rarely seems to be the other way round. Examples: the hero, veer-zaara, ishaqzaade, rahnjaaana etc etc.

Because they are showing that love is not about religion. It's more greater than that... much more in depth. You can fall in love with any person despite caste, culture, religion, etc!

Yes, as long as the boy is Hindu and the girl is the one that's non-Hindu.

Only a few exceptions to this. Otherwise if there are interreligious stories, it's always the female that's from the minority religious community.

And it's not just Bollywood, Hindi films or India. It exists outside of India too--though it adapts according to the majority religion of the particular country.

exactly, that's my point. Also its stupid that according to the majority religion of the country the female has to be the opposite religion!!

So kids can carry on dad's religious duties ... Guess, in BW it's easy for viewers to imagine the boy taking the lead ... in that aspect.

There is movie comming total siyappa. Were it will be shown hindu girl falling fot muslim guy I guess. Yami gautami ( indian ) falling for ali zafar ( pakistani). There families will be living in london
