It depends on the money you invest in laptops , go for
Dell it has fair price , you are purchasing directly from dell. with your own modifications , if you want cheap go for Acer , IBM (Lenevo) think pad was tough , Toshiba is costly when compared to other , Hp is stylish, even compaq was good , and there are other's too LG, Samsung, Sony ,

go for light weighted, sleek , stylish, ....

since you are a college student you surely wil use it for atlest 3 years , i Hope
