Talk about what the norm is.
About matriarchial society, in India there is only one which is in Kerala. I have heard about it in
Indonesia also in the island of Sumatra even though the religion follwed is predominantly islam.
You may find it in among few cultures in the world. But majority of cultures are patriarchial.

Very successful professional or a topper in school.What about ordinary woman? with good
Common sense and will to live a happy life with dignity? This is where Indian culture differs
From the west. In order to get some respect the woman has to be a super woman among
Ordinary mortels in Indian movies.
In the western world even an ordinary woman can expect some freedom and independence.

That is the difference. How to measure true success? There is IQ and EQ. One has to balance.

Ironically, in USA, where there is so much women's equality compared to other nations, they are not
Yet ready for a woman head of the nation. Europe is getting better now. Countries like
India,Sri Lanka and Banla desh had women prime minusters. But in these. Countries
Dynasty over rides gender in equality. That is why we are ready for Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
Not because our country is tuely emancipated.
