Samaira celebrates 2nd birthday in style!

Karisma Kapoor had a big bash for her baby girl, with a guest list including the who's who of B-Town

Last Sunday (March 11), Karisma and Sunjay Kapur hosted a birthday party for their daughter Samaira (who turned two), at Taj Lands End in Bandra.

The party included a mix of playmates from the Kangaroo Kids playschool in Bandra and Lolo's friends from Bollywood.

Barney's bash

Malaika Arora, who went with her four-year-old son Arhaan, says, "It was a great party.

The cake was made in the shape of Barney the purple Dinosaur (from the children's TV show Barney and Friends) and that was also the party's theme.

Lolo and Sunjay hadn't celebrated Samaira's birthday when she turned a year old, so this year they decided to have a party. It was a small gathering of family, friends and Samaira's playschool buddies."

Bhavna Pandey came with her daughters Ananya and Rysa (sans husband Chunky Pandey), while Gauri Khan came with son Aryan and daughter Suhana.
Shah Rukh Khan too was supposed to join in the celebrations, but the party was over by the time he finished shooting for Om Shanti Om.

So what did Arhaan gift Samaira? "It was an assortment of things — some things Arhaan chose himself, while I selected some things too.

I think toys are a waste of money, so I prefer giving educational toys that children can learn from. Today's kids are very bright. When he was only three, Arhaan learnt to enjoy computer games," says Malaika.

Says a source present at the party, "It was great to see Sunjay and Karisma with Samaira. She's too small to really understand what's happening, but she was very happy with the kids around her."

The cutest gift of the day was from doting aunt Kareena and Shahid Kapur, who bought the little baby a pink Barbie cycle. Soon Karisma, Sunjay and Samaira will be heading out for a long one-month holiday.

I am so glad they are still together. It would have been so sad to watch everything fall apart. So good for them and happy birthday to Samaira. 😃
