Here is the re-write of the in-completed story that was written by me a year ago. So here it goes. I hope you all enjoy.
Chapter 1:
She walked down the stairs slowly with her bag being dragged down along with her. She was aware of the eyes gazing at her, begging her to stay. She took blessings from Nani, and Mami and hugged Payal and Anjali.
She bid everyone good bye and started to make her way to the exit of the house. Her feet stopped midway and she couldn't help but turn around to get a last look at her husband Arnav. She picked her bag up and slowly headed for the door, still having hope that Arnav will stop her.
His lips parted to call her back, to stop her from leaving him, but his tongue didn't move. What he wanted to say didn't get to her ears. Soon the bit of hope of beginning a new life with her husband vanished
"Lets go Titaliya". Buaji instructed casting a sympathetic look towards her.
He stood there not daring to move a muscle. No one knew what to say so they creeped to their respective rooms. Anjali stood there, staring into his eyes searching for answers. It seemed she had found her answers. Before she could call out Arnav entered his room and slammed the door shut.
He was fuming with anger. How could he let go of the love of his life. He was asking the same question everyone wanted to ask why did he let her go? She was trying to fix their relationship and give it a brand new start but he hesitated, he rejected the offer. All the while she was doing everything to hold on, when all he did was let go.
He threw the blanket on the ground and messed his room up. He lay on the recliner when everything flashed back.
*Flashback* 1 day ago
"Arnavji, I have to leave tomorrow". Khushi reminded, tears prickling behind her eyes.
He was hoping that she wouldn't remember but she did. After all she was probably counting down to the day where she could be free and can continue to ruin his sister's life. But his heart told him she can't do that she's an innocent angel who is craving to receive your love. But once again his brain ruled over his heart.
Her ears craved to hear Arnav say " Don't go Khushi". Though her ears never heard it come. They quickly ran out to see what happened as they heard a pooja thalli or some dish clash with the ground. That's when they saw mami's plate of salad scattered on the ground while the whole Raizada family stared at the 51inch Plasma screen.
Khushi looked Arnav who stood there gobsmacked. The truth was out, the truth that Arnav was also unaware of. The bitter truth about him mistrusting Khushi. The video clip of Khushi and Shyam on the terrace on the night of Payal and Aakash's wedding.
So Khushi was innocent and he had trusted that creep over Khushi. He had insulted her that her brain was Laxmi's brains size but infact his was. Just as the video finished the whole family turned around to see Arnav and Khushi trying to get answers for the questions their brain was asking them by just looking at their faces. Arnav and Khushi had no idea in how to respond.
Anjali walked upstairs and grabbed Arnav and Khushi by their arms and yanked them with her down stairs to the lounge. She made them sit down on the couch, Khushi and Arnav told the whole family the bitter truth every single bit. Though both their families had forgiven them as they knew how much they loved each other but couldn't express or admit it as they both were stubborn and had their own ego's to deal with. Nani had slapped Shyam and kicked him out with mami's taunts just as they arrived home.
*Flashback over*
Anjali opened the door when she was blown away to see the mess Arnav had created trying to express his anger.
"Chotte, I know you like her then why did you let her go, why didn't you stop her. She wanted to be stopped by you and you too wanted to stop her then what happened", Anjali questioned getting slightly irritated at Arnav for letting Khushi go.
Arnav started to imagine those magnificent moments he had spent with her. When she came running and hugged him at the hospital, during the Teri Meri dance when his hands go around her bellybutton sending currents down both their bodies and the holi confession and many more. A small smile had formed on his face while reflecting back which didn't go unnoticed by Anjali.
Anjali was 100% sure who her younger brother was thinking of and thought it was best to leave me him alone for a while. She headed towards the door and slowly closed it trying to make no noise in attempt to close the door. Leaving Arnav stranded in his room.
