Once smitten, twice shy was literally the case with Imran Khan and director Punit Malhotraas they shot for Karan Johar's Gori Tere Pyaar Mein with Kareena Kapoor Khan. In fact,Imran confesses that they would run behind Bebo the entire day, "shamelessly pampering" her, even ensuring she got her nimboo pani and umbrella on time!
"We were smitten and how. I have photos of Punit giving her a foot massage," says the actor. But Bebo is quick to refute the flattery and says, albeit in jest, "Both of them had no respect for the fact that I am far more experienced. They treated me like an absolute newcomer, but I had a wonderful time. I didn't mind it at all."
This camaraderie, says Imran, stems from the friendship they forged during Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. But more than the friendship, it's their chemistry they are extremely proud of. "I make a special pair with Imran," says Kareena, "He has that very endearing boyish charm and I am the spicier one, so it just makes us perfect together."
Imran certainly agrees, "There is something intangible that allows for the great chemistry. She brings out the best in me." Of course, he says he hates the fact that she's able to give very good shots effortlessly, something he works very hard towards.
Imran says that the film is special for many reasons. "Emotionally, mentally and professionally, this movie is very important. Bebo is a friend, Punit and I did I Hate Luv Storys together, and Karan has always batted for me," he adds.
