I never liked that character too. There were times I felt that maybe he is not that bad afterall, but IMO he has never shown any love for any of his kids. He has always been so self obsessed, that no one else mattered to him. His majboori, his lachari, his failed love, etc.
What he did cannot be forgiven IMO. Even though Razia used Rashid to kill Zainaab, he is still guilty of arson!!!

He cannot be redeemed in my eyes no matter what he does. I never liked Vaquar somehow as he has just one expression and not too much scope to act and I totally agree with Vin and u that both Vaquar and Dilshad are not putting in their best. Dilshad was totally off in the accident scene.
Vaqar is a good actor so is Shalini. But I have noticed that he has never been given any more importance than a prop in the screenplay. that is why he has just on expression. he is neither the negative male (Ghaffoor) nor is he the positive one (Asad). Even when the track focuses on him, read RSD, the importance is always given to the females.
Gul killed Dilshad's character for me after she dint even make a phone call to Zoya to ask how she was and she used to treat her as her daughter. Where is Dilshad's self respect, dignity and pride now that Rashid wants her back? Is she not going to spare a thot to Shireen and SM ppl? Not that I like them but Shireen has insulted Dilshad on this issue time and again and Dilshad will only prove her right by uniting with Rashid.
I think Dilshaad will still hesitate. He was always her weakness, remember how she reacted during his imprisonment? And yes, she was one of the best characters that has been completely annihilated in order to fit the story the writers are churning out. There is no consistency in her character or for that matter in any of the characters,. They are twisted to mold the story and in reality good storytelling is when the story is twisted to mold the characters.
The less said abt Badi bi the better. Her mouth opens only to fight with Razia. Why did she never support Dilshad, Asad and Najma all these years. Parents may have fights with their kids but the relationship between grandparents and grandkids is something else. She was never there for KV ppl and never spoke up for them and it's no rocket science to figure out why Rashid is spineless. It's all in the genes!!!
you know, I was thinking of the movie Biwi No: 1. Where the MIL supports the DIL and accepts that her son is wrong in leaving her and the kids for a second woman. I wonder why Badi Bi could not be that saas. I mean its not like Dilshaad is a bad person that you cannot live with. Infact, ur support would have been so beneficial to her when she was struggling for her kids. What majboori did she have that she chose her son over her grandkids? Aren't grandkids the intereset on ur principle?
