@bonnefille: I don't think any overnight changes have happened to Naren's character...there was never anything shown in his first scene for us to make all these presumptions of "suave businessman"...the way I see it, more shades have unfolded with time and the character is being opened up accordingly.

Inspiration from Barfi? Are you seriously comparing Jhilmil's character to Naren? That's quite a stretch...Jhilmil was very obviously autistic...Naren being confused by the file colors isn't remotely in the same category. And it's not that he doesn't know how to sign...he is whimsical...he signed as he felt like on every page.

Time and again his mother and Arjun have been shown to say that Naren lives in his own world...so he probably doesn't have social/business smarts...he won entrepreneur of the year...so they are showing his character more focussed on innovation...that is about the level of finesse you can expect in an Ekta character anyways...since when have characterizations been 100% realistic and blooper free? But that nowhere means that Naren's character has been changed overnight into Koshish as you were implying in the previous threads.

If there was anything to be HIDDEN about Naren's eccentricities vis a vis these Koshish or Bidaai wala Aalekh type storylines, then they wouldn't have shown that peon and that random girl in the office giving such extensive explanations for Naren's eccentricities to Ankita...they are playing up his eccentricities, not trying to HIDE them under the facade of normalcy.

So as far as I can see, Ekta is trying to show a different kind of eccentric character...not the "mentally child-like" ones that have been done many times on TV anyways.

Ofcourse overnight script-changes are still possible in Ekta land...but I don't think think those have happened yet with Naren's character...they are still establishing his character...and yes he does seem to have a tragic past...but his eccentricities seem independent of that.

@ bold: Not entirely of course. I meant the childishness and innocence of Jhilmil's character. What I was really trying to say was that it is more possible for Ekta's CVs to be inspired by a Bollywood film Barfi than by Steve Jobs. And I too don't think he is autistic. In fact I am still not sure about Naren's character so I can't be confidently saying that this is how he is. Whatever I wrote was my presumption of the character...I could be totally off note.
We all can just keep guessing...its Ekta's overworked CVs who obviously know best. 😆

Interesting comments by everyone here ..

Will give my review a little later ..I think Naren 's character seems more inspired by Steve Jobs or Bill Gates ( this is really funny way of adapting them 😆) .I guess this is Ekta's tribute to them ...
He is what I would call ' accentrc ' more like the Mad Scientist that used to be in old stories ...the professor of ' Back to the future '.
I think Naren is cute and sweet .. the way he got all excited about Lauki all of a sudden

@Bonnefille: Ahh I see you mean that Ekta is more likely to rip off Bolly movies than take inspiration from international famous figures? True😆

Isn't it nice though to have a mysterious character that isn't TYPICAL?😆 I'm enjoying that for now.

@bold: Bingo...that's exactly what I'm trying to say too...he has a mad genius vibe to him...and I used the Steve Jobs analogy cuz Bill Gates is nerdy, but not socially awkward...Steve Jobs on the other hand is famous for his eccentric ways, his OCD-ness regarding the way he wants a shape, a design to be...

Those are the hints they've shown in Naren's character too...the way he gets stuck on something and wants things to be a precise way...the way he's working on Sundays and basically in his own world regarding what needs to be done and what not.

There isn't anything child-like or autistic about him so far...

LOL ofcourse if Steve Jobs found out that Ekta of all ppl was trying to "pay tribute" to him like THIS, then 🤣

Thanks Tanya for the daily thread. 😃

I really liked Naren/Ankita scenes today. Anki's expressions were perfect. When Naren tells Ankita to change Pranav's name, she had a W*F look on her face. 😆 Its good Naren is not just another rich business type character. He is a little weird, eccentric like all geniuses are. I think that's what they're going for here. I'd like to see Naren/Ankita a little bit more. The spacing between their scenes is awful right now. Today was the first day we got to see them for a good 4-5 mins. I hope we get to see them interact at work more frequently. That would be a lot of fun.

So Soham knows that Ankita looks like Archana thats why he does not want her to work in Arjun, s office, he is definitely going to do more difficulties in Ankita, s life, I cant believe cvs have destroy his character that much, looks like we wont have Soham nd family meeting soon.

After a long time, I laughed while watching PR. I found the Naren-Ankita interaction genuinely funny; well-written and well-enacted. Naren seems to be an interesting character, very different from the usual businessman types. Hope he stays like that for some time. I'm also liking Ankita as she seems refreshingly normal so far. She is clear in her priorities and has a practical no-nonsense approach towards life driven by her love for her siblings and wanting them to do well through education. I loved the way she said" who wants to work on Sundays, not me!"
On the other hand, the weepy mansi has started irritating me a little. And marriage should be the last thing on their mind at this moment.
I'm genuinely puzzled by the Arjun-Purvi separation story.
Looks like the Deshmukhs are going to descend in Mumbai soon.
