"Idon't feel married at all. It feels like I'm living-in with my husband," says Sampada Vaze. The pretty actor has been married for more than a month to Chris George, somebody who she's known for more than six years. And Sampada's finding out that marriage also means compromise in some ways. "I like the fan on minimum, whereas Chris likes to be in subterranean temperatures. Secondly, he's an early morning person and wild horses can't drag me out of bed!" she laughs. Also, Sampada says that now she has nowhere to go if she fights with her husband.
Sampada says that she used to have misconceptions about marriage before she took the plunge. "I have friends who got married at 21 and divorced at 25. So you get to hear all kinds of horror stories. Also, Chris and I were commitment phobic before marriage but since we have known each other for so long, it was easier for us," she says. Considering Chris is half Malyalee-half-Maharashtrian, how is she coping with his Mallu aspect? "It's really funny actually. Chris likes his food cooked in coconut oil. So whenever I oil my hair with coconut oil and the smell is in the air, his dog Jedai starts licking his mouth because he thinks food is being cooked!" she laughs.
On the workfront, Sampada's looking forward to taking up some more work. "I'm doing Rishton Ki Dor. Now they're introducing a new person opposite me. Apart from that, I'm also thinking of doing some other stuff, maybe a travel show or anchoring some show," she says. And does Chris watch her show? "No, he doesn't, he doesn't like to see me cry," she smiles. At the moment though, it's not work, but her honeymoon that's on top of Sampada's mind. "I couldn't go for it earlier since my passport had expired. I have applied for it again and hopefully, we'll be able to go to Ireland by April for around two weeks or so. I just took a five-day break for the wedding so I deserve a break now," she adds.
