Cricket World Cup 2007, the biggest cricketing event in the world will be telecast live by various TV channels across the world in order to enable cricket fans to watch the matches live from their living rooms. In different countries, different TV channels have been allotted the rights to telecast the matches live from the beautiful islands of the West Indies.
EchoStar Satellite LLC has acquired the rights to distribute on radio, television and the Internet. The exclusive rights of distribution by EchoStar extend to Central and South America, Canada and the Netherlands Antilles. Sony Entertainment Television has acquired the rights to telecast the matches live in the Indian sub continent. Doordarshan, the national TV channel of India will telecast live all the matches played by the Indian team as well as the Semi-Finals and the Final. The BBC will telecast the highlights of Cricket World Cup 2007.
The TV channel SABC has secured the ICC rights to telecast the matches in Africa whereas SET Max, Doordarshan, Sri Lanka's Rupavahini and Bangladesh TV will beam the matches live in Asia. Caribbean Media Corporation has acquired the rights to telecast the Cricket World Cup 2007 matches across the Caribbean. While in Europe, ARY Digital and Fox Sports International have been given the rights to telecast the matches live, Fox Sports International will also telecast live the matches in the Middle East. Sky New Zealand will beam World Cup matches in New Zealand and Fiji TV will telecast them in the Pacific Islands. Cricket fans in the UK and Ireland can turn on BskyB for live matches and BBC for highlights. DirecTV and EchoStar will bring the world cup matches to fans in the USA.
