Admittedly trying to cash in on the cricket World Cup fever, private TV channel STAR News is launching a weekly programme called 'Crazy Kiya Re--World's Sexiest Cricketer', with women viewers being the primary target audience.
Produced by International Management Group (IMG) Media in association with STAR News, the 13-episode series will be telecast at 9.30 a.m. every Saturday starting March 10, coinciding with the World Cup that takes off in the West Indies the next day.
The programme, hosted by VJ Cyrus Sahukar along with three glamorous women from different walks of life, will try to pick the 'World's Sexiest Cricket Team' and the 'World's Sexiest Cricketer' during the World Cup, IMG announced Thursday.
"The first 11 episodes will witness the selection of the 'Sexiest Playing Eleven Team'. Based on the audience voting and the points assigned by the expert panel, the 12th episode will declare the 'Sexiest Playing Eleven Team', inviting the audience to further vote for the 'World's Sexiest Cricketer' from the chosen XI," said IMG.
The 13th episode will be the grand finale episode where 'The World's Sexiest Cricketer' will be announced.
"The format of this cricket-based show is driven towards expanding the audience for cricket in India," said IMG India managing director Balu Nayar.
"'Crazy Kiya Re' is an exciting format delivered in cutting-edge style and targeted at the women audience the world over, and by extension to the cricket fan looking for something more from his favourite cricket programme," STAR News CEO Uday Shankar said.
