Coming to today's episode...
A volatile jallaad like woman falling in love is always an absolute delight to watch. Even to watch her soften and try hard to regain her harsh contours on cheekbones, arch her eye brows and turn her eyes into glaring headlights of a SUV , and continue the unsuccessful attempts is amusing and hilarious. Jab gussa nahinn aa rahaa hotaa, toh bas nahiin aa rahaa hotaa. People trying to look angry and offended look like puppies trying to prove themselves german shepherds. Earlier, Jodha at least put up a good show of put on chudailgiri so that she can stop her arrogance from melting in front of Jalaal. But " kab tak roothegi, cheekhegi, chillaayegi" theory fits like a Prada shoe here. Kindness, compassion, loyalty moves mountains. Jodha is just a human being. The anger and arrogance veil is finally fighting a battle with her and slipping. Motibai can see the veil slipping and that is why all this teasing , taunting , cupid-indicators. Because Motibai can see that Jodha is beginning to make exceptions and adjustments for Jalaal. Changes that have risen from a touched heart , if not a stubborn conscious mind.
10 episodes back if Jalaal would have told Jodha that he stole her anklet , and offered to hook it back around her ankle, she would have made a hoity-toity face and screamed - " Awashya hi issmein bhi aapka koi na koi laabh hogaa. Bina swaarth ke kahaan aap kucch karte hain, Shahenshah?"... But today? Her impressed vanity lets her put her foot in front of a bent Jalaal but the 'wife' inside her pulls the foot back and tells him to get up, because that is not where a husband is supposed to be.
Jodha is treading a dicey path jahaan dimaag ki pakad chhoot rahee hai aur dil zor pakadne ki tayaari meinn hai. She tries to comprehend Jalaal and then, gives her amused and wondering judgment at the end of the episode - " He is a play of light and dark." Showing very mild signs of a woman who can accept Jalaal as a package deal.
Coming to Jalaal, do thappad lagaake isske munh ka munh chadhaa peepa banaa doon main? Kis munnh se he calls his Beghums' ki fidrat ' caamplicated'? Apni shakal dekhi hai convex mirror mein? Jitni umar nahin hai innki, utnni layers hain poori personality mein. Ruqqu, Jodha and Saleema are are transparent as water. Ruqqu is a vanity queen with a hypersensitive ego and sense of insecurity. Jodha is a tigress with the heart of a lamb. Saleema is like first rays of the morning sun who soothes you by her mere smile. What fidrat does he talk about? He instigates them, ruffles their wings aur phir ye ummeed kartaa hai ki Ruqqu and Jodha ussko lap mein bithaake apples khilaayein?... Fidrat, seerat , neeyat are your departments , Jalaal. Chor kotwaal ko nahin daanta karte, huzoor. Maaham ne ittna bhi nahin sikhaaya bachpan meinn? ... Chor aap hain.
I like Jalaal's twisted mind and his chessboard thinking, though. Takht pe baithne waale ka sar taaj ke neeche dabnaa nahin chaahiye, balkee , uskaa wazan uthaane ke liyye mazboot hona chaahiye. And Jalaal was born with that head - custom carved to wear the Mughal crown. He was a delight in the court today.
And my true MoronsKiMallika- Ruqqaiya Sultan. Well, as much as she convinces me of keeping no hopes on her, she raised a very valid point today. Honesty. Jalaal and Ruqqu are BFFs even though there is no solid emotional connect or matched wavelength here , apart from backbiting and playing kitchen politics- still, you would expect your childhood friend to be honest with you. Jalaal tries to make Jodha-Jalebis to play and frustrate Ruqqu. Ruqqu is your queen consort, your BFF - ittni imaandaari toh honi chaahiye ki use jo bhi pataa ho sachh pataa ho. Sacch nahin bataana ho, koi baat nahiin. But don't play on the person's mind and heart... As long as Jalaal told Ruqqu that he hates Jodha, there was self-deception but there was an honesty to Ruqqu. Am not saying that Jalaal owes Ruqqu anything , but if you cannot be transparent with a person, that relationship is at a dead end and you are ensuring that it never moves from there.So, i wonder what relationship Jalaal and Ruqqu share. Transparency waise bhi kabhi nahin thi aur abb toh imaan bhi jaata nazar aa rahaa hai.
And as i sign off for today, i must tell chudail Jodha to keep her chudailgiri limited to Jalaal. Cheapuddin bahot bhaari padegaa, aunty. Coz to beat the villain , you have to be the better villain. Aur aap to abhi tak theek se heroine bhi nahin banee.
